Draven and Darius Quotes

Not really sure where to put this kind of thread but something was bothering me for a while. New champs like Azir and Gnar have special jokes and taunts for other champions that they're fighting against. For example, Azir can taunt Sivir and Gnar can do the same to Nocturne, Garen, and even Fizz. But why don't they give some new battle quotes to champs with clear relationships to others like Draven and Darius.

Draven and Darius are brothers. If Gnar- who has no connection to most of the champs at all- can have taunts to others, then why can't Darius taunt his brother and vice versa? And when talking about those two exclusively, their voice actors are obviously available to Riot as Dunkmaster Darius and Primetime are recent skins with new voice clips to them. Some other champs that could use these might be;

Garen and Lux Jarvan IV and Xin Zhao Kayle and Morgana Talon and Katarina Katarina and Cassiopeia Cassiopeia and Talon Ezreal and Jayce Jayce and Caitlyn Jayce and Vi (aside from the "Hey, Jayce! Powerslam!" quote)

I'm a big fan of the lore and champion relationships that Riot puts together so adding a little more depth to those relationships through quotes would definitely be entertaining to see!

Adding quotes and interactions between the two could really open up personality for the two. Maybe Darius is the only person Draven is envious of? He's a general compared to Draven, a mere executioner(Glorified, but still). Maybe Darius is disappointed in his brother. Who knows? So many possibilities that not adding new dialogue between the two is just a waste of potential.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Perhaps if they did it the way they did when the Shurima event took place when they gave certain champions like Renekton, Sivir and Xerath new VO. I feel like when it comes to the older rivalries in LoL, they're losing depth so much so that people seem shocked when I mention relations between certain champs but then again half of them don't even know what a lore is. It's time they become more relevant. Hell, I'm even shocked Primetime Draven has no interaction with Darius and the DM Darius only has one with Draven.

Exactly. Darius getting one quote for Draven (as hilarious as it is) with his expensive skin isn't enough to really demonstrate their relationship. Dunkmaster Darius has him taunting Draven but what about Draven's feelings for Darius? His older brother raised him and had to protect him when he couldn't do so for himself. And as it was said before there is so much that they could do to expand the lore with quotes! What Dunkmaster Darius says to Draven could really just be the whole persona of the skin and not exactly how he truly feels towards his brother although I will not say that he wouldn't be antagonistic towards his younger brother.

I know I have seen various interpretations of their relationship but something like that isn't normally the kind of thing that is left up to the community. For family relationships- at least- Riot should have a set canon for how they feel towards each other.

This is something that I truly hope gets to Riot at some point. Even if it doesn't happen any time soon I really want to see them brushing up on lore and giving some love to Champion relationships. Like the ones I mentioned in the first post, there are so many relationships that can be expanded by this! A great portion of the community is interested in lore and some only play certain champs for their lore or personality. Draven is a strong example of this for me as I typically play him for his personality (although he is extremely entertaining to play as well).

They claimed to be fixing up the lore as they have been doing with Shurima. Like Damonstration mentioned before, they added new quotes to champs for the whole Shurima event so why not do the same for other champions? In all honesty, I'd rather Riot fix up their current champs by finishing up the lore reboot and giving quotes to older champions.

Overall it is simply a rather recent thing. They started more or less with the freljord event to include more and more quotes between champs and almost all champs who were released before that don't have any quotes for each other.

I have an idea Riot. why not have special quotes for Vel'Koz when he taunts any female champions. this may take a lot of coding, but hey, it's that thought that counts.
