@Riot, thank you for reverting Ahri's splash! \O/

Thank you, Riot! It appears you have listened to the overwhelming dissenters on the new Ahri splash. I am honestly surprised at how many people are coming out and are saying they like the new splash. Like I said in a previous post, I applaud the artist for a great work but it is not Ahri! First, one of her most notable features was almost completely unrecognizable: her fox ears! She is supposed to be an interpretation of a kumiho (nine-tailed fox). The new splash had it to where they are so much smaller that one could almost think at first it was just part of her hair sticking up on a bad hair day. They are so small that the distance they are spread apart made them look more like small horns to where my mind automatically pictured her saying "I'm BATMAN!" Her whisker lines are virtually gone. Her tails lost all aspect of silky appearance and looked like some kind of dust mop or shaggy carpeting.

Also being inspired by Asian mythology, the new splash removed almost all possible Asian features that a person could recognize. They white-washed her skin and undoubtedly rounded her eyes to look more like a western girl. Note that last word too. She looks like a girl, not the seductive woman that her lore tells us she is. I've seen comments from "New Ahri" supporters that we "Old Ahri" supporters are only butt-hurt because they nerfed her breasts. In actuality, I think the new one is more sexualized because of how they turned her top from covering her breasts in one piece to where it now conforms to and enhances the curves of both breasts (just like Popstar Ahri).

The background was far too dark and implies evil, which is not Ahri. When I first saw this new splash, my first immediate reaction: upcoming Harrowing skin? I don't mean that her background has to be all happy and full of cheerful colors in response, but many have to admit it just creates this sense of evil/darkness instead of mystery/awe.

If they rework this, it is going to need a ton of work that is going to take a lot of time. In all honesty, they are better off scrapping this one and trying something new. Hopefully, whoever the artist is, will take into consideration the feedback from the fans on her appearance and lore. Again, thank you Riot for listening and reverting her splash. Ahri <3

Truthfully I don't mind making her seem 'evil'. She's a Korean fox spirit, Kumiho. They are universally evil. Traditionally known to embody fears of rape, incest, paedophilia and cannibalism. (A contrast to the more varied Japanese Kitsune, or the often malevolent but again, more varied Chinese Huli Jing. (Which is really where the multi-tailed fox myth comes from in Asia. Even if the Japanese have arguments in favor of their separate development of the kitsune, there's no denying that kitsune lore became (mostly) a copy of the Huli Jing myths.)

Ahri isn't evil. But she's still Kumiho. She wants to be human so she can stop being evil and move up the Karmic ladder. She's tragically struggling with being a monster.

Other then the darkness though, I REALLY dislike the new splash. It feels like its too much like New Dawn, which I felt wasn't very Ahri, except she... lacks even more Ahriiness, has no whiskers and has a creepy porcelain doll face.
