Please stop using Varus' homosexuality as a scapegoat.

While I think that an established sexuality is a meaningful part of a character; Scapegoating your complaints onto Varus' homosexuality makes your criticisms look weak and homophobic. If you are going to criticize the new Varus lore, use some intellect and be rational.

Personally, I think that retconning a character's sexuality does have some unfortunate implications, but there are more structural weaknesses in the new lore than just his sexuality. I think that it's absolutely valid to be upset over his sexuality changing, but if that's the entirety of your concerns, I think the new lore is just fine.

EDIT: The reverse is true as well. People with legitimate criticism over Varus' change, including his sexuality, have legitimate concerns that should be addressed. Don't use his homosexuality as a blanket argument for or against the changes made to lore.

Please refrain from using words like homophobic as it only inflames people. You also dont have to insult people.

How about this. Maybe the part people don't like about this new lore is how it feels like an edgy fan fiction. The Darkin part is good for the most part but everything feels kinda lame. I enjoyed old Varus sacrificing everything he had left to join with an ancient corruption to enact vengeance. The new lore is just two guys who morph together to become a Darkin? It doesn't make sense HOW OR WHY Varus was even in that temple and why would it be considered holy. Then they use the "love beats all" card straight from Disney and somehow these two minor characters TAKE CONTROL FROM A DARKIN. This just makes Varus seem like a super edgy teenage fan fiction villain and not a full fledged Darkin which nearly whipped out all life on Runeterra. It's not the gay thing that bothers me but it's how they changed his lore into something way more boring.
