Now that there is no longer a League of Legends, will the name of the game be changed?

I honestly doubt that it will, but the idea for newcomers that the name of the game is something that no longer exists is a bit worrying to me.

My personal thought was that Riot would keep the name, but have league become something more of a pool of the newly dubbed Legends rather than champions. The idea of champions is also going to be out-dated. Now that there are no more summoners, there is no reason for the characters in the game to be called champions, because a champion is generally one who fights for their owner or controller.

Thoughts?

Runeterra Punchmen.

Please rename the game "Runeterra Punchmen". I have money riding on this.

I still can't believe that they went the easy way of "just blow up everything and start another thing without what defines our playerbase as participants in this Story"...

a champion is generally one who fights for their owner or controller.

while that is indeed one meaning of the word champion, i think the majority of people associate champion with this meaning:

someone or something (such as a team or an animal) that has won a contest or competition especially in sports

Runeterran wars. War over Valoran. Wars of Legends. Void over Valoran (I like this one, VoV).
