Why?
Why do champions battle on summoners rift? does anyone know because i'm really curious after the lore retcon.

According to the lore the game doesn't exist. Champions don't do silly battles on the fields of justice teaming up with and against anyone.
According to the game the lore is really pretty and has great characters, so lets use them to perform arbitrary battles on arbitrary battlefields.
The connection between the game and the lore is now one-way. The lore will no longer explain gameplay nor will the gameplay be able to immerse you into the lore anymore.
They don't, the game is not canon in the lore of Runeterra.
Its kind of a way for groups to settle disputes without all out war if I remember correctly.
