Cause that is his "masterpiece"

so is he going to retire after that?

Probably have a brief career as an after dinner speaker, maybe do a few school visits about believing in your dreams, then fade away into drug and booze fueled obscurity. His eventual OD death would be a side column in the papers at best.

Bigger question: does he want to kill Shen and Zed?

In one of the lore relating to him, he states how he wants them both to work together to chase after him like the old days. If he does kill them, it would likely have to be so perfect that Jhin in the end never does. It's too perfect to be a reality.

Who says that’ll be his magnum opus? I think he’ll just continue.

He won't kill them cause Shen is too tanky and Zed is too dodgy.

He'd kill two more people of general prominence, probably Master Yi and Sona because he dislikes them. That way he'd have FOUR

After that I think he'd just keep being an assassin for hire. While he wants Shen and Zed to reconcile (and then kill them), his clients hire him for his ruthless efficiency, not his delusions.

I honestly don't think he intends to make it out alive during his final battle with Shen and Zed. More like it'll be some kind of final showdown where all 3 of them will die in the process, or at least that's what he's hoping to achieve from it.

If I recall correctly, Rioters have stated that Jhin knows he's irredeemable and that subconsciously wants to be caught... but he does state that he'll keep going until "they" finally stop him for good - the "they" being Shen and Zed, or so I'm assuming.

However, Kusho's no longer around to prevent Zed and Shen from killing him. So... that sounds like death, doesn't it?

You realize the character was originally a serial murderer, right?

Jhin most likely assumes that he's probably not getting out of there unscathed. He's probably going to kill them or die trying at the very least. And even if he does survive 1v2ing fucking ninjas, he's probably not going to be in good shape. However, he does state that he will keep going until they stop him, so if they're not there to stop him, then why would he stop?

Jhin "Indeed. Their final performance will be my greatest masterpiece by far. However, I will never stop. I can not resist the temptation to perform. My art will never die."
