New Lore 2 - AKA Downvote Boogooloo. - or Let's Discuss the Retcon. (after I have a big rant)

OK SO THIS FIRST PARAGRAPH IS GOING TO BE ME CRUCIFYING MYSELF SKIP PAST IT IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY SOMEONE ATTEMPTING TO PICK APART THE OLD LORE AND ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE NEW LORE STUFF COMING LOOK NOT SO BAD.

Alrighty, Hello everyone i'm Sirpimsywinkle a level 30 summoner who has been browsing the lore and story sections of both the forums and boards for some time now and now i've decided I gave my 2 cents.

Alright so everyone is angry or depressed or afraid of the upcomming lore retcon, and some people seem to think that the complete retcon has already happened... While the full retcon has indeed not happened quite a few champs have gotten the "short" end of the stick (heh see what i did their?) Skarner is probably the most notable of the batch. (now just being a scorpion guy, hell i dunno.) But yeah i've seen so many people complaining (AND THIS IS JUST SOME PARAPHRASING)"oh jeeze these new shorter lore things are no where near up to snuff with the old lore." and "No more IoW and SR has no purpose behind it, WHAT NOW RITO PLZ!?" I've just sort of been sitting back until recently reading all of this and now i've got some stuff to say...

1 - THE INSTITUTE OF WAR REMOVAL AND SUMMONERS RIFT HAVING NO PURPOSE! Ok so the old IoW had summoners working together with specially linked people or things in order to resolve conflicts that arise in the world of runeterra without resorting to war, some champions would hang out or were locked into the IoW. As far the new lore it's not really anything so far, nothing has been revealed other than gameplay and story will be seperate from now on. Only thing is gameplay and story didn't mix together that well in the first place... Most of the story developments and battles resolved in the rift never lead to anything REALLY CRAZY happening, this is like in the WOW novel "tides of war" (aka the one with jaina going banana nut crazy) You know as you're reading up on it EVEN WHEN GARROSH DOES THAT BAD THING HE DOES no major characters (jaina and kalecgos) are going to die: this is the problem with the summoners. No matter what happens Piltover won't be demolished by Zaun, Ionia won't be controlled by Noxus, and Bandle city won't.... opposite of whatever Bandle city does. Honestly I don't know what i'd want Riot to do instead of just removing it outright, LoL is a moba to have some form of continuing story and lore is hard to keep going and have it stay relevant. We can't just say that the IoW was ultra important to LoL's lore because honestly Riot could have done anything and we probably wouldn't of cared. Instead of the IoW we could of had the magical childrens books wherein heroes and villains would duke it out on paper as the kids watched, or the tiny warriors constructed rom magical materials in a mage's workbench he would sit over the little battles they had and just watch.

But if you have any opinions or ideas on the IoW please drop em on me i'd love to hear about them, and i'm sure if you're still reading at this point i've piqued your interest or you're trying to figure out every hole in my argument so you can stab me with your logic. Hey whatevers good with you folks.

Part 2: SHORTENED LORES AND CHANGED CHAMPIONS?! - Alrighty so recently Riot has been shortening and changing the lore of champions, this is all supposedly because of some kind of bug in the website or something. Honestly it doesn't really matter what's delaying them odd are the writers are probably buying time as they set up this new Runeterra but eh can't do much to stop them. But yes here's some examples of those shortened lores (old lore first new second.):

Amumu - Old Amumu was a sad mummy walking the world looking for answers to his mysterious past, eventually he found the IoW and everyone felt bad for him so they let him join. (also he was a yordle)

New Amumu - Amumu is a sad mummy with a mysterious past walking around, he's sad and stuff. SHURIMA.

Yeah not too much change, other than how he's now a human which is odd. This and rammus are changes that just don't really matter because their old lore was nonexistant (also the same for evelynn, if she ever gets a lore rework that would be nice...)

Skarner - Skarner was a member of an ancient race of ground scorpions whom due to magics corrupting the world have moved underground, skarner is awake and goes out to see magic still being goofed with so he's pissed. Eventually some summoners find him and talk to him, they now are working a way to save his race.

New Skarner - Skarner is a scorpion guarding a temple or something ,OOoooOOO scary.

Yeah so skarner's new lore is just terrible... Even shortened this kind of a change is so bizarre and nonsensical that it is just like "what...?" But yeah that's the bad way of doing it.

Ezreal - Ezreal is a famous explorer going all around the world, he also had some magical talent which allows him to use this neato gauntlet thing he found in some ruins. This gauntlet connected him to some random summoner VIA NEXUS MAGICKS and he keeps getting teleported to the league of legends at random.

New Ezreal - Ezreal found this neato gauntlet in SHURIMA which he Shurimad his Shurima and Shurima.... Whoa sorry turned into Azir their for a second. But yeah found his gauntlet and it gave him powers and he's embarassed.

Ok so the old lore... Why exactly did he willingly fight for the league of legends...? The new lore is not much but it doesn't have that bizarre bit about him deciding "eh i'll help you guys out in your deathmatches."

But yeah... The lore retcons have been a bit all over the place for champions and until we see these "full" lore pages we really can't say terribly much about them. And yes it sucks to see these stupid short stories be dropped into where we had our old lore (probably about as long as this post actually.) but hopefully Riot will do something about that.

So yeah this has been my long post to just sort of vent some of my feelings on this upcomming storm. If you want to add your own thoughts or opinions feel free to, and if you want to downvote me or explain how dumb and misinformed I am just type the first sentence in all caps so I can spot it faster and learn some more.
