Blood Moon Aatrox Prestige Edition is a Major Disappointment

Prestige Editions were supposed to be these rare and exclusive skins that you could earn, they weren't supposed to be just a simple recolor/chroma, they would actually have visual differences to set them apart from the original skin that they're based off of, but no matter how you look at it Blood Moon Aatrox Prestige Edition is just a glorified golden chroma. K/DA Kai'Sa Prestige Edition and K/DA Akali Prestige Edition have altered appearances to their original counterpart to set them apart from each other. The Prestige Editions are much flashier looking than the original skin in both the character model and the splash art, and you also get a loading screen border with the Prestige Edition as well.

One quick look at Blood Moon Aatrox Prestige Edition will show you that there is no visual difference at all other than the color of the skin. The Prestige Edition is just a gold recolor of the original, there is no other difference design wise at all. Not only that, the splash art as well is the exact same, it just looks like they added a gold filter over it. There is also no loading screen border for the Prestige Edition either. Another thing to add as well is that the Prestige Editions kind of lose their exclusivity if they're going to be released back to back like this. Way more time should be given before releasing another one, they shouldn't be released one patch after another.

I hope changes are made to the skin before they are released. It's a cool looking skin, but most people agree that the original skin looks far better than the Prestige Edition. There is nothing "Prestige" looking about this skin, it's just a golden chroma that is being passed off as a Prestige Edition skin. This is only the third Prestige Edition skin and they're already getting lazy with it.

TL;DR Blood Moon Aatrox Prestige Edition is just a glorified golden chroma being passed off as a Prestige Edition skin.

I think there may be some difference in VFX (as would be expected of a Prestige Edition skin), but yeah, I can agree that the model does need something extra.

The question is, what? The changes have to be simultaneously modest and noticeable, which isn't exactly an easy feat. I've looked over the other two Prestige Edition skins (K/DA Kai'Sa and Akali), and here's the differences I've noted;

Kai'Sa

Jacket replaced; sleeves with rolled-back ends

Hair buns removed, hair restyled (no visible part)

Shoulder pieces streamlined, made solid gold

Boots replaced with heels

Otherwise it's just general outfit differences

Akali

Coat sleeves altered; gap between shoulder and elbow

Shoes merged into leggings, buckles remain

Coat hood replaced with large fur collar

Kama model slightly altered; seems to just be the pommel

Coat sleeves extended, end in fur lining near the wrist

Belt buckle seemingly removed

Otherwise it's general outfit differences

So, what could be improved with Aatrox? Here's my suggestion;

Back spikes changed; maybe add an extra two curved spines

Adding on to the above; add more banners/make the banners more distinct, somehow

Improve the appearance of his horns, perhaps adding a spine or a lower set of horns to "crown" his head

Change his greatsword's look, probably only at the tip of the blade and at the pommel; curved tip, maybe an extra crescent design to the pommel?

Add a bracer/armguard to his left arm

Add sandals

Those are my suggestions, going by what I've noted from the previous Prestige Skins. It's good to point out to Riot when there's a discrepancy like this, but without making suggestions in the same turn, it makes it hard for them to actively work on the feedback they get, so, hopefully this helps them in some way, shape, or form.

Yeah I agree. As much as I'm excited by blood moon aatrox, as I really enjoy him and either skin looks great on their own, this is literally just a golden chroma with recolored effects.

They need to stick to the bar of quality they held with the KDA skins- there should be differences in the model and splash arts. After all, we're effectively paying for a full second skin, unlike variants like the PJ guardians where you get a discount for a skin with a new model (but same fx) and totally brand new splash art.

I have some helpful suggestions. Some of the most standout features of the skin are the shoulderpad and horns. These are places they could look to add visual differences, especially the shoulderpad. Hell, maybe prestige Aatrox should have 2 pauldrons instead of 1? Maybe a bit more of that golden armor they mentioned in the pbe thread?

I hope riot pays attention to this feedback, it can be hard to make enough noise when the champ's skin in question isn't some waifu fuck

I have to agree. My biggest issue isn't so much that it's being called prestige when it's basically a chroma because we can potentially earn it for free. My issue is that, in its current state, in-game it looks more brass than actual gold. I want it to have a very clear and bright golden shine. If they wanted to do more with it they could try to make it more holy whereas the base skin is more demonic. I would even be impressed if the "Prestige" version was simply a different/cooler sword but that would never happen. Just my two cents.

its really sad they got rid of the old voice acting. if this skin had new voice lines i would buy it just so i dont have to hear the new aatrox QQ about his hideous for and whatever else the paragraphs of forced 'edgy' paragraphs of garbage. they should have just kept old aatrox and made the new aatrox the 4th darkin... but since i obviously pissed of some random riot employee they just remake every champ i play anymore. all these new lissandra players and the useless new passive she has is what i mainly QQ about right now but hey if they wanna focus on aatrox again then here i am. item 3091

And the saddest fact is.. you cant even (as of now) earn him. You have to Buy Chests in a Value around 100 Dollar/Euro.. For that the Skin really doesnt do it for me. At least give us Missions with the "Paying" Stuff :I

As for the Pajamas - at least there cute and if you own the SG Skin extremely cheap (and well done)

Bro hate to dissapoint but all the prestegie editions are literally just gold chromas. akali gets a hair twirl and kai sa gets long hair thats not significant in anyway not to be a chroma. What'd you want, for aatrox to get a thong? Also prestegige editions are pretty much only there for die hards of the game. you need to spend well over for 25 just for the required tokens for akali and kai sa and right now aatrox's edition is literally 100 dollars.
