Guide to Skin Price Tiers

In the past there have been a ton of 520 skins being completely revamped from just recolors to full fledged skins that would be 975 RP according to this Guide to Skin Price Tiers. The ones that come to mind are Shadow Evelynn, Enchanted Galio, Tundra Hunter Warwick, Infernal Akali.

We had to go to multiple twitter accounts and make multiple reddit posts on r/MorganaMains for them to finally say they will make Exiled Morgana (a 975 skin that was previously just a recolor with a different passive and auto attack effect) get a recolored VFX.

Before anyone says "it's on PBE they would have probably changed it" just watch this video of RiotAugust stating otherwise and I had a ton of issues with almost everything he stated.

The simple fact of the matter is if you do not want to put resources in making a 975 RP skin worth 975 RP then lower the price. The Guide specifically states 975 RP skins "Pushes the champion a step beyond a simple costume change, with more immersive qualities." while 750 RP is just a costume change. Lower the price or update the skins properly. Thanks.

And lower the price of all the old Legendary skins for Updated champions. Firefighter Tristana or Alien Invader Heimerdinger are not worth the legendary price, they barely count as 975 RP skins.

With Exiled Morgana confirmed for VFX, that leaves Sinful Succulence Morgana (975 legacy), Battleborn Kayle (975), and Transcended Kayle (975 legacy), with no new VFX. Riot Kayle (975 legacy) only has partial VFX. I REALLY rather they just bring these ones up-to-date instead of lowering the prices. It might take a couple weeks to finish off, but late is better than never.

I can't believe everyone fucking forgot sinful succulence Morgana exists.

She was in an even worse place than Exiled Morgana, with literally NO different abilities.

My only real devil advocate I can make towards this, is that Evelynn doesn't have nearly as many skins as Morgana does, who was updated along with Kayle. Lotsa work, I'd imagine, but they said they're doing it so I dunno. Maybe they thought no one would mind or something, and it was put off the ledger to save time.

It doesn't help when Riot increases the price of RP due to their game failing. Instead of fixing the game they have to resort to ripping us as consumers off. Well played Riot, well played.

Let us also be clear here - the 520 skins that got major updates were done so because Evelynn, Akali, Warwick, Urgot, and Galio didn't have many skins with unique or fancy particles - the majority of their skins were just simple model swaps and nothing more, and the majority of their skins that got special particles were also color swaps originally, which made them a sort of reward for players who owned those original shitty skins. So these skins are the EXCEPTION to the rules here.

That said, champion VGUs who've had 975+ skins HAVE HAD THOSE SKINS UPDATED THOROUGHLY, at least in the past 3 years. So why they're skimping out here is beyond me. Not only do the 975 skins for Morgana and Kayle need new particles, they also need new recalls as well, which is also a staple of their price point.

Also, bug him on twitter to get shit done. He's already posted an update to Exiled's new shield, so let's keep reminding him that Battleborn and Transcended Kayle, and Sinful Succulence ALSO need new particles, and that all 4 need new recalls.

I would honestly buy more skins if they were affordable, but I don't play one particular champion frequent enough to warrant such a purchase. When you need to compete against other games out there, it's important not to drive away players with the dependency of cash.

First of all, Riot isn't obilgated to update old skins to the standard of today's quality and price they're asking for it. These skins were priced like that when we first started so there's no reason to lower the price of them if you're unhappy how they look now, as if you were happy how they previously looked (talking about Exiled Morgana in particular).

No one would agree to the price increase, even if the skin in question would've gotten the increase in quality. People would just beg Riot to give that champion a new skin with the suggested price instead of changing the old one and increasing its price. So asking for Riot to give the skin recolored particles (which it didn't have before) and then ask for a lower price if they're unwilling to do so is not OK, in my opinion.

What you're asking is getting more bang for your buck, after the "improvement" of said cosmetic content you already had. It makes sense even for me that some of her skins have differently colored particles to align better to her color palette but Morgana's spells are predominantly dark purple.

What i wouldn't agree with if Riot took away the colored particles from the skins that used to have them, for example, Blackthorn Morgana. And they weren't just recolors, she had her own tiny spell particles as well to better align with her "autumn forest" witch feel.

OR they could add new features that realize the skin fantasy, increase its price accordingly and then "unlegacy" it in order to make the whole process profitable.
