I had a thought about Jhin's early teasers.

The initial teasers were short animations of Zed Garen Vi and Sona being shot by who we now know is Jhin. Seeing them now, it's easy to say that it was teasing his 4-shot mechanic, 1 shot for each champion, but i think it's a little more interesting than that.

Ever since those first teasers, people have been trying to figure out what those 4 champions have in common, and how they could relate to the new champion. ever since the beginning, i thought that their special relation was that they weren't related, that it was riots way of telling us that the new champion would be someone impersonal and cold-blooded, a true killer. My assumptions at the time were far more boring than what riot gave us, however, as i assumed he would be a hitman, not a serial killer. The reveal of his lore revealed that he did have a connection to Zed, but what of the other 3?

Looking at it from a gameplay perspective, when i look at Zed Garen Vi Sona, i see almost a full team. 4 of the 5 team members are accounted for, leaving only 1 left, and Jhin doesn't seem like the type to leave survivors. so who is the 5th member of their team? i think it was Jhin himself. the only role remaining on this 4-person team is marksman, Jhin's primary role.

I don't think we were intended to look for connections between those 4 champions, I think the message of the initial teasers was to let us know that the upcoming champion would be the kind of person who would kill his own teammates, just to watch them die.

They confirmed already that the champs were chosen based on what looked cool and not of how they are related to jhin. Its all just how jhin imagines their deaths.

But he is a hitman. At least in present times. He's used as a contract killer of sorts by the Ionian government.

Now if only they had a free-for-all mode to go with it . . .
