Neon Strike Background Information?

After browsing tumblr for a bit one of the blogs I followed reblogged an art concept for Neon Strike Sion and we started a discussion on what the neon strike thing is all about

i figured it was a kind of lazer tag-esque game, given the purple lazer-y weapons and lights

the other user suggested it was more important/deeper than that so what is the background/idea behind Neon Strike? thoughts?

It's like, Piltover in 50 years when the culture's all gone to- well, neony and strikey.

Still hoping for Neon Strike Malzahar.
