An odd Irelia request.

I know Irelia was announced to be the next update after Swain, so I wanted to make a rather odd request that I hope stays. I don't play Irelia, except when I get her in ARAM, so I have no reservations about any kit/visual changes. The one (well perhaps two actually) thing i want to stay is her death animation. It's just such a brutal death that fits with her losing control of her floating swords. Obviously update it to look prettier, but this small detail is really the only thing i hope stays, or at least gets looked at and kept from Irelia.

I hadnt even thought of that. Its one of the few things about her that actually fits thematically, so i hope they do keep it

I always felt these kinds of deaths were in an odd place. The animation doesn't say "oh this person got beaten" it says "They fucked up and died."

Trynda slips and his big ass sword goes flying and lands right on top of him while Seju literally just falls off of Bristle and he crushers her. Even Braum seems to have more fight in him until his door just falls on him crushing what remains of his fighting spirit.

I guess it isn't bad that some champions have these kind of animations but I feel like they should be reserved for the OP champs who seem like they are just playing around, like Shaco.

He pulls a full on Predator screaming" I KILLED MYSELF! YOU DIDN'T WIN! YOU DIDN'T WIN!!!"

I liked it just because it was a hint to her undead nature not really being natural or comfortable. Like, a kind of "hey, my soul's really not supposed to be stuck in a bunch of swords, it wants to be back where it came from" deal.

I always assumed she committed honorable seppuku to avoid the shame of being defeated.

I hope that they will be able to keep her dance animation as well, it's one of the best

But trynda has basically the same death

Since Irelia, Braum, and Tryndamere are technically mostly immortal champions (immortal in the sense they cannot die from violence DUE TO IT BEING impossible for 'anyone else' to defeat them), they can only 'die' by their own hand/mistakes (and indeed in game, played at the max skill ceiling these champions only die when they make a mistake or 'lose control').

Her losing control of her powers and suiciding in the heat of battle, tryndamere slipping on that soraka banana peel and impairing himself (he's still alive but the blade is too big to pull out in his position so he is 'stuck'), zed escaping into the shadows after playing possum, the undefeatable relentless sejuani crushed by her own steed. All themes of double edged 'over poweredness' of their skills and accessory/mount choices.

Tryndamere rolled a 1 on his d20 and got a 'critical hit' ;)

A large majority of the champions are immortal or mostly immortal tho, but these mentioned are of that rare 'not to violence cause I am OP skilled' variety.

Well it comes off as a bit off since she'll respawn. Imo the 'death' animations should be more like 'incapacitated' animations. KO'd from Final Fantasy for example, you're not dead, just out of the fight.

Its just really satisfying to see her suffer in a long and painful death after she made your existence suffer
