I mean sure, VGUs are fine, but what about all the smaller scope visual upgrades you guys used to do?

None of these champions need dramatic gameplay changes, so why not just give them (and others) the visual touch ups that they need?
The reason is simple; priorities.
"If we could spend time doing just a VU for X champion, wouldn't that time be better spent giving equally outdated but more unhealthy Y champion a visual update and a gameplay update?"
Riot's Champion Update team is involved with both art and gameplay, so they're gonna focus their time and attention on what they can make the most of with the time and resources they've got available to them.
If you go to the Visual Update room at Riot HQ and say the word "Udyr" every single living being in that room (including the ficus by the window) will scream and hurl themselves under the nearest piece of furniture until the menace is gone.
Updating Udyr and his multiple in-battle forms and multiple skins is enough work for two or three champions. If they ever do redo him, they'd probably end up doing it like Sona where they have one base model that surrounds itself with different particles as he changes stances.
Cho'gath is actually on the list for VGUs.

Mundo still has 3 toes, and looks Iike a child's drawing of his splash. "Mundo no feel so good."
Edit: I normally use one of his many skins so as to avoid his chronic three toes syndrome.
probably deserves one too; if not, at least a splash art update.

Anyways yeah all of the ppl's above are in need of VU. Morg looks like a women growing out a walking tent.
I'd actually prefer if they'd dumb down the graphics. Every time they update a graphic my comp runs league a little more worse. I have literally no issue with anything on my comp except league, and I use my comp to make music so yea. All these fancy ability graphics, critters running around, and general graphical expectations make it where even on lowest setting I can't get above 25 FPS when I was getting no less than 60 FPS ever. I have to avoid teamfights cause once people start throwing spells I go to like 3 FPS. It gets old.
Cho'Gath's kit is as outdated as his model :l He deserves a full VGU Jax and Anivia are ''acceptable'' IMO Morg and Uydr do deserve some visual work tho
