What would it take for Xerath to be free?

I'm honestly wondering what would be required for Xerath to actually break free of his sarcophagus. In his old lore, it was possible for him to weaken the bonds just by absorbing magic from Nexus crystals. Recently, though, I've started thinking about just how durable the sarcophagus is in the new lore. Not only has it held together in its broken state for hundreds of years, but Nasus's brief clash with Xerath in Bloodlines didn't really seem to damage the prison that significantly. Can the seal only be undone by magic, or can the sarcophagus itself actually be destroyed somehow?

I wonder if a Darkin could destroy it or if Zoe herself could (seeing as though she has no sense of morality, it's right up her street).

Can Xerath even be freed from his sarcophagus?

He doesn't have a body anymore; he's pure arcane energy. The sarcophagus is probably the only thing preserving his consciousness and pulling him together.

It was once of a magnus ascended, but after that dude was “fallen and forgotten” guess nasus and renekton found a use and plopped it on to xerath. But that says a lot about the things shurima has, as you see a crown for Aurelion was made in shurima. And a sarcophagus to hold powers like xerath.

I think it’s fair to say shurima holds more then meets the eye.. who knows maybe shurima has things to beat Targon itself. The last ascended who was about to close the void was shot by a stupid icathian kid... let’s be honest there are many things to exploit. IMO I’m guessing xeraths prison was made for such situations.
