So what exactly is Akali's persona/character supposed to be?

Other than edgy teenager ninja trashtalking with a fetish about murdering people just because while playing with knives and smokebombs? I am really disappointed with the lack of development for this character, we still know nothing about her except from the fact that she left the Order...shocking.

There is literally nothing in that VO or anywhere else that tells us anything about her,she was irrelevant and still is in the lore, the only thing we know is that she left the Kinkou order so that she can "defend the people of Ionia". lovely, so what is her VO supposed to represent? 50% of her quotes are about how fast she can kill and the rest they are death threats while trying to give her some sass.

It just doesn't make sense, she has been taught all these things, trained with all these people and all she gives them... are...death threats..so shallow.

Recent champions (and reworks) have something special, something to make them distinguishable etc, even and obviously more, have much more interesting lore even though they don't express it through their VO, they express it through stories, and their lore in general. It's shameful that these outdated characters are much more complex and interesting than her.

So I would love to know, what exactly makes Akali different than the rest of the Champions?

If I am missing something just please tell me.

On a thematic level Akali stands out because she is pretty much an actual weapon/ninja tool master,sure Jax is the guy who mastered every weapon,but that really doesn't translate into the game as he just uses his lamppost. Meanwhile Akali actually uses a variety of weapons(Her Kama,kunais,shuriken and smoke bombs).

In terms of lore she is stands out as the only ninja who is neither a kinkou,nor a member of the order of the shadows. Granted currently her lore is pretty much just "she fights noxians",but thats just the beginning.

But I agree that her personality is not very developed.They said that her VO is so small to evoke the idea of a silent ninja,but in that case they should have simply added more interactions to make up for that. I hope that her color story will give us a better impression of her personality.

Imo, her character will only be revealed after we see her first story after leaving Kinkou. She currently represents the born Assassin, trained to murder people while being isolated from the world outside of her order. Leaving Kinkou as a trained Assassin offers her tons of opportunities that can lead to her real evolution.

Will she become a Bounty Hunter? Maybe she will make an order of assassins. Or maybe she will become an Assassin working for Ionia. Maybe she will be Irelia's partner, but working from the shadow. Hell, for how unprepared Ionia was for this war, she could be some Guerrilla fighter that constantly harasses Noxian Soldiers and that is why her current kit encourages a more hit-and-run play style.

She is supposed to speak in short phrases since she has only one objective which is her only focus: Assassination. It would be weird to have a trained Assassin gossiping about normal life stuff or talking about her life, revealing secrets that could become her weakness.

Most of her quotes simply warn her opponents to not underestimate her and, in my mind, she tries to make them surrender before she qualifies them as targets (something she probably used to do in the Kinkou and it simply sticked).

From my point of view, she is somewhat similar to Katarina and Talon, but there is one small difference: they all know that they are weapons whose only purpose is to kill, while Akali kinda wants to free herself from being used or restrained. She wants to choose her own "balance", her own path.

For now, we only have her Bio and, in theory, she should receive a Story which reveals Akali in action and the way she thinks. The only piece of advice I can offer is to wait and see. She barely has been revealed on PBE and there is a long time till she will be released.

i asume Akali will be what you could call the "bridge between the modern world and tradition" or at least something similar as she seems to be very young and strikes a similarity between zed which a lot of the more "modern" teens would as zed saw the Kinku as not going far enough thus leaving zed to come to the conclusion that the old ways are weakness and need to be disposed of same way Akali leaves the Kinku because she believes they dont go far enough in protecting their home from Noxus

Someone who is trying to make her own way in the world, originally coming from a stifled background (aka Kinkou Order) but now "an adult" and able to make her own decisions and mistakes. I predicted Akali would leave the Kinkou when Riot said that they were doing a continuation of her story and not rewriting her because with her previous fiery personality it's what made the most sense.

Riot could have executed on this better but lets see the cover story before we point the finger.
