Didn't wholly understand the ending to Twilight of the Gods
Pretty sure I'm just stupid, but I didn't really get what had happened at the end of Twilight of the Gods.
The story that I get up until the end is basically Ta'anari wiping out the rest of his Ascended/Darkin brethren with the Myisha (the Aspect of Twilight) help, after deciding that they wouldn't be able to be their old selves again and that no peace could exist while they lived. He does this with the Chalicar, using lunar magic that undoes the Ascension brought by sun magic and kills nearly everyone around him. At the end he is returned to his old human state, and then Myisha tells him that most of his kind deserved to and is going to die.
She then stabs him with the Chalicar and rips out his heart. She says that the Chalicar's power "knows [his] kind now," and that she "[gives] that fire to mortals." She then hands off the heart and weapon to be taken to a weaponsmith to find another way to deal with the Darkin.
The final part is what I didn't completely understand. Was there something about Ta'anari's Ascended-turned-human heart that is useful to Myisha in the battle against the Darkin? What did she mean by the Chalicar knowing his kind, and the fire (which I assume is the means to trap Darkin) she is giving to mortals?
I just didn't get it.
