Are Ethwahl and Death's Dance darkin?

Etwahl seems to have a symbiosis with sona similar to darkins having symbiosis with their host. According to sona's old lore, her care takers tried to sell the instrument but it kept returning as if it had some sentience and sona specifically could use its power. Granted it doesn't really look darkin but is that a requirement? Also the name doesn't have an "aa" emphasis which may or may not be a darkin characteristic.

This just flat out looks darkin, and unless the blade itself is call "death's dance" the demon or whatever the blade is doesn't have a true name.

i don't think etwahl is a darkin, nice try though

here is why the etwahl wanted to have 100% of sona love and refused to have sona loving any other person, which is the reason the etwahl killed sona's adoptive mother

and i don't think darkins have this behavior, they just want to completly possess someone, but they do not crave for their love

Some people may argue that Death Dance cant be a darkin because having a simple item as a Darkin would be a waste of a character, since there are only 5 of them left... However, i think that an item could be a Darkin without host... and in a future, we would recieve the darkin with the host as a character, after all, the game already has champions that are wearring in game items. Other item that could be Darkin is item 3083 , since the lore mentions that is a living being.

I hadn't heard of the bit about the instrument in Sona's Lore. That's super interesting and definitely warrants some though.

However I still think it is a bit of a stretch to suggest that one of the original characters was secretly designed to have a sentient instrument and the playerbase was never told. I'd think that would be something Riot would emphasize in her lore or brag about on the forums / dev blogs.

I have never thougth in that way about the Etwhal, but is possible, since the damn instrument is VERY eldritch.

Not to mention that Sona has always been potentially non-human: floating, manipulating the emotions of other people, and her natural hair color is blue with golden tips.

Sona's lore is one of the most incomplete lores of league.there are a lot of questions and unanswered plot holes , with those uncertainties at hand its a little hard to put much thought on what you just mentioned , there are too many unknowns to even have proper guesses if you ask me.

i think this is why its taking so long for her to get a lore update.

I literally just realized Deaths Dance was a sword. I legit always thought it was like a weird cape or dress.

Doubtful on the Etwahl, keep in mind anything written about Sona is out of date at this moment in time. Death's Dance does look more promising, but I would hope there is more variety in the Darkin
