@Riot - Champions based on skin lore? Would they be possible?

Let me expand and specify my question(s)...

Would it ever be possible or at the very least considered having new champions based purely on a skin line and lore?

For example, would it ever be possible to have a champion based on Battlecast, Mecha, Project, Hextech, Fullmetal, Eternum, Bloodmoon, etc?

Maybe like a clash between some other alternative dimension where in one instance:

Viktor perfected his robotic revolution and created a better Blitzcrank based on the Battlecast skin lore.

Some new Piltover champion utilizing Jayce's Fullmetal tech, like some kind of Iron Man champion.

The Yordles worked out the kinks in their Mecha line and created a great defender for Bandle City. Like a Sentry to fight off any foreign invaders.

The creator of the Project line had one last ditch effort in case his experiments ever turned on him, a champion to carry out his legacy (like maybe that Shogun character that Yi was having nightmares about).

Another humanoid champion, like Rek'sai and Nocturne, the herald or harbinger of Eternum (think Reapers from Mass Effect) comes to Runeterra to wreak havoc.

Maybe in your update to Urgot, make him more Hextech since be basically is in theme with Hextech.

You guys (and gals) already have several champions based on skin lore, Zac, Urgot, Singed, and even crossovers of skins into existing factions, like Spooky Gangplank and Spectral Fiddlesticks fitting in with the Shadow Isles, Void Fizz and Void Bringer Illaoi with the Void, etc.

These "champions" could also possibly have hidden interactions with existing skin lines and they could cross over into other skin lores too. Like a Mecha based champion having a Battlecast skin or vice versa (a Fullmetal champion having a Project or Bloodmoon skin). Would make a lot of your skin lines canon to lore and maybe answer some questions that we've all been dying to know.

I mean, you guys have already invested tons of money into skin teasers, trailers, websites, etc, why not utilize those assets for new champions? Would save you guys some money there since the framework would already exist to bring these champions into LoL.

Viktor perfected his robotic revolution and created a better Blitzcrank based on the Battlecast skin lore.

So a Battlecast Blitzcrank skin?

Some new Piltover champion utilizing Jayce's Fullmetal tech, like some kind of Iron Man champion.

So... Full Metal Jayce is basically Iron Man?

The Yordles worked out the kinks in their Mecha line and created a great defender for Bandle City. Like a Sentry to fight off any foreign invaders.

So... the Mecha skins?

Another humanoid champion like Rek'sai and Nocturne like Rek'sai humanoid

Maybe in your update to Urgot, make him more Hextech since be basically is in theme with Hextech.

Urgot does utilize hextechnology, but is not fully robot, unlike Hextech Anivia and Galio.

You guys (and gals) already have several champions based on skin lore, Zac, Urgot, Singed

????? Zac was teased in a skin splash art, but I'm not aware of any Jello skin theme... Urgot, as discussed above, is not hextech ,but a twisted amalgamation of flesh and metal. Singed... is a dude with a bottle and board. No skin themes in his base either.

But giving a robot champ "robot skin #2" would be too boring. Mecha Malph is almost a hue shift away from being Battlecast, why make a whole seperate skin on a hypothetical champ?

I mean, you guys have already invested tons of money into skin teasers, trailers, websites, etc, why not utilize those assets for new champions? Would save you guys some money there since the framework would already exist to bring these champions into LoL.

They do... Jinx video, Vi theme song, Braum website and poro vid, Bilgewater event, Shurima event, on and on and on. Login screens, lore sites, artwork. More resources go into champ releases than skin releases. For example, look at the recent MZS release. A teaser image, on PBE, a login screen, and then a video on YT on release. Compare this to Aurelion's section in the Targon website, his ARAM VO, teasers, on PBE, then login screen, release skin, and champ spotlight.

Lastly, it would be odd for newcomers to pop in with "wow that new giant robot champ is cool, what's his place in the lore? has he met Jayce? Viktor" and be told "Nah he's no in the main lore storyline, better read this AU fluff to get up to speed."
