I could imagine this giving a Metal Gear Solid type of feel especially with Battlecast Urgot's giant mechalike features and Omega Squad Veigar's Venom Snake arm.

In my headcanon I feel that they're both of a bad turn of runeterra's future. Along with Project, Mecha, (maaaayyybe steel legion and full metal? i believe full metal was jayce's counterpart to battlecast) and Program(maybe).
But with the (trailer?) for the new omega squad skins, it seems they're actually fighting the headhunters. Although headhunters could've just been last minute given that they're the closest to a jungle-themed skin line.
