His brown color on the base skin seems that Riot intentionally made it worse so I'm forced to go for the chromas because his base color is completely dull, boring and completely off with those flashy blue animations. Naalith3 votesYeah, I'm not really comfortable with Riot releasing chromas at the same time they release new skins. On skins like this one where the effects match any of the chromas it really does seem like they use the worst chroma as the base for the sole purpose of making money, whereas skins that get chromas post launch are usually amazing and then you can spec into the chromas if you want but it isn't required for the skin to look good.

Although I'm sure it's easier to create the chromas right away when making the original skin, a grace period of at least a few months should be given to release additional color schemes. That's just a personal opinion, but I feel like a few people might agree with me.

Naalith1 votesI'm just talking about as a general rule rather than specific cases I don't think they should release chromas with new skins, this Rengar skin is definitely the worst example but there are a few others. The new Yi skin chromas are way good, Dragonslayer Xin Zhao has some chromas I would argue are better than the original. Those ones could be seen as pretty subjective but the Rengar one I would say 90% of people would agree the chromas are better than the base, and that's not okay. I really hope they don't make chromas and skins that release together in the future.

ddoA1 votesIt would make sense if this skin woudn't cost 1350 with that awful base color, while im Rengar main and have all of his skins, even the awfull SSW, this skins just isn't worth it since you are required to have on of these chromas just because the base one doesn't look good compared to the chromas.

I mean I personally think it looks fine as is and if you want/need the chromas to make it look better to you then that's your opinion
