It's actually Anivia, in one of the battle cast teasers Anivia's name came up among the other battle cast robots. Guess that skin was scrapped tho.

I doubt its Anivia.

The blueprints had ANV among them,but it was never hinted that battlecast anivia ever made it into production(the other bc skins came much later,so they were definetly not in production back when the blueprints were released)

And the shape of this thing looks rather off(it seems to look at us,but the wings bend into a different direction than anivias) and one of the important things about skins is to preserve the shape of the champ.

It's probably scrapped tho and at this time Vel'Koz wasn't a thing. Yet Vel'Koz is shown in Creator Viktor's Splashart (Vel'Koz wasn't released at this time) and Battlecast Skarner Alpha is seen in Battlecast Cho'Gath's Splash (The last battlecast skin is shown in the first one's splash...).

Tl;dr: Could be Anivia with a chance of 5%, otherwise it's either a new champion or someone who can thematically fly. Let's not forget tho that Battlecasts are mostly creatures from the void - And ironically most of them are lategame monsters.

My guess is that it was a teased champion that hit some kind of bump in the road, and was then iceboxed to either be dropped or picked up at a later date.

I can see why people would make that correlation. Unfortunately though, that's the canceled Battlecast Anivia skin and perhaps you may be looking at it the wrong way. The bottom of that image is her head and the top "horns" are her exhaust pipes.

I'm sorry to burst bubbles, but it is indeed just a rock.
