I doubt that they would kill an existing champion to introduce a new one. It must be something with Shen's rework and a lore update. Zed's redemption maybe??

Shen is next on the rework list. There's also the "Dead-eye" teaser floating around, perhaps an introduction to a new champion? There had been similar teasers where the champion information on the league website was defaced( jinx ), or modified ( zed/cass/tf shadows (kalista)). Only time will tell.

When a thread was made on Reddit regarding the teaser, Gypsylord, the designer of Jinx, Vi, Gnar, Ekko and the next champion, left the following, suspicious comment: "!" I think that it's very like that it's a new champ being teased.
