How about a "read by riot" symbol

I spend a lot of time constructing and writing my posts, and I'm sure many others do so too, but it always feels like such a waste of time. Posts disappear from the front page really quickly, and I never know if my thoughts actually reach the reds.

I am pretty sure reds read more posts than they comment on, so why not put a symbol, sign or smt. similar on the post (maybe only visible for the creator of the post) to show if the reds have seen it yet? It would at least help us know if our information is actually getting through. Might give us more incentive to write here too.

This has been brought up many times, the general consensus is that it would likely result in more negatives than positives. Seeing that Rioters have read your thread would be kinda nice, yes, but it's also completely empty. A system like this could also result in people getting frustrated because Riot is consistently watching but never responding.

This is a very different problem, in a few different ways. If this is a widespread feeling it's significantly more serious as well.

Why is it so important that Riot weighs in rather than the playerbase? Is this healthy interaction?
Why does it end up feeling like a waste of time?
Is it possible Riot isn't communicating effectively enough, rather than just implementing a stopgap solution?

The thing is, I'd rather know if riot has read my post at all rather than not knowing if my post will just fall into the depths of the "old post sea". Riot answering is something I consider a luxury for when they see something they would like to discuss further. Just knowing that riot has read my post is enough for me, they don't have to answer as well, I know they have a lot to do.

They need to show that they actually are watching. Currently it feels like they pick out some posts at random and write there, and never actually look at the other posts.

Edit: about 1) why riot and not the player base. Simple answer really: riot controls the game and I would like what we discuss here to have some sort of impact on it. I enjoy discussing with you guys and hearing your opinions, but what's the point if it disappears into data space without riot seeing it? I hope this makes sense, if not, say what doesn't and I'll try my best to relay my thoughts ;)

Because the playerbase doesn't read with proper attention long and well constructed threads, barring exceptions. If they don't understand it on first istance or they don't agree on the subject or see their preferred champ/items touched they tend to downvote regardless of anything, without looking at the argomentations bring by the OP and answer with proper responses to stimulate the discussion

This is a bit of a limiting opinion, to be honest. What you're essentially saying here is that there aren't enough people that understand or want to understand the mechanics of long-form communication, so you have to turn to Riot for conversation you feel is valid.

I don't need to have this kind of "Read by Riot" sign. But it is undeinable that Rioters go to read the most popular threads on the forum, and long posts to open up threads don't make them exactly popular, so i can understand what OP was trying to say

There might be some drawbacks, though - simply acknowledging that we read something might not always a great experience for players. I worry it might feel almost dismissive, depending on the context. Acknowledging a bug report on the PBE forums? Definitely a good idea. But if a player has put a lot of effort into a really deep proposal or critique, I'm not sure simply knowing a Rioter acknowledged it is necessarily any better than receiving no response at all. It might feel like, "okay, Riot, but what do you think? What are you gonna do about it?"
