Board deleted

SuperTaco0··2 votes·1,275 views

I posted a discussion on the "report a bug" board about disconnection issue in game, where I had disconnected from league of legends while still connected to the internet, but what is important is quickly after I posted this it was removed and had said that I posted on the wrong board. removed my post I had no feedback whatsoever. Personally I think what I posted was on the correct board. anyone have any feedback?

Edit: i was wrong :p

Hey there!

Just wanted to point out the Culture for Report a Bug.

Culture

This is the place to report bugs that you find within League of Legends. Something that occurs within the Client, patching related issues, or anything that involves gameplay (stuns not working, unintended interactions between abilities, vision issues, etc.) should be posted here! **Please do NOT post about disconnects or lag. Instead redirect those problems to Help & Support. **

Alright thank you, I should have read a little more before posting, I was just upset because I thought I had posted in the correct area and had been deleted without being moved or told where to post

I would put it in the Help & Support area instead. Bugs are in game problems like when Yorick could become invulnerable, or when many champions could gain unlimited attack speed when using Zhonya's.

Yeah, I have feedback. Rito needs to get some common sense and tell you 1) what they removed and 2) where you should put it. But I guess Rito and common sense don't go well together.

Will get removed in a min for "being a jerk" even though I only tell the truth.

Lol on the down votes. So you guys don't think that Rito should tell you what the removed and where it should be posted?

I think they should tell you what got removed. I'm not as sure about where to put it.

My reasoning being, if they tell you exactly where to put it, you just put it there and don't actually think about what belongs on what board. If they don't tell you, it forces you to think for yourself, which reduces the likelyhood of you making the same mistake again. It's like in a math class - you'll learn a concept much more effectively if you do a problem yourself, than to just read the solution.

That being said, for cases that are on the line, this can be pretty frustrating and unhelpful -- like doing a problem where there's no single correct answer.

I won't say that moderation is lazy for **not **doing it, but I feel like a little effort goes a long way. Riot can't reasonably expect people to be forced to deal with the Boards' current iteration and, at the same time, not do simple things like "The following post was deleted for being in the wrong board: insert copy/pasta here".

And this is from someone who isn't buying the GDpocalypse conspiracies.

I think the ideal mod message would look something like this:

Hey it looks like your post, Board Deleted, was in the wrong section.

We'd like you to take a moment and familiarize yourself with the guidelines for each Board, then repost it in the correct one.

[Copy-pasta of Boards Guidelines here]

Move my post to: [Dropdown Menu]

[Submit button]

One of the options in the dropdown menu would be "I read the guidelines, but I still think my post was in the right place." (not quite that wordy, though). If you choose that one, the mods will send you another message telling you which board is the right one and why.

Optional: if you choose the "I think it was in the right place" option, give OP a text box allowing them to explain why they think it was in the right place. Mods can read this, to help make their decision, and the Boards team can read this, to determine where the guidelines are unclear => make them better.

edit: made this into an OP

Agreed. I think mods actively coaching users through the process like this would go a VERY long way. Dropping what amounts to a form letter on users just... isn't the way to go.

Tribal knowledge kills community growth. Raising the learning curve for using the boards just makes them less attractive to participate in. Nothing else.

At least math has applications outside of the classroom.

Getting users to post things in the right boards takes the burden of moving posts to the correct sections off the shoulders of a small team of mods and distributes it among thousands of posters.

I hear what you're saying about burden of knowledge. That's why I think the board guidelines should be in each mod message (see my example message above).

Yeah, I can see your argument as well. I do, however, get a little frustrated when I make a game play feature suggestion in the game play boards and it gets removed. I guess my suggestion affecting the game play does not belong on the board that is about game play. If we equate this to math, it has to a least be diff eqs lol.

Made an OP that would hopefully address this!

Nucleophilic atk1 votes

Nice! I will sadly say, however, that since your post is not about reporting somebody for using a bad word in a recent game of yours, Rito will probably not consider looking at it.

Hyrum Graff1 votes

That hasn't been my experience here. I've had a lot of interaction with the site developers. I can give you more info in client if you'd like.

Nucleophilic atk1 votes

I have used support ticket feature multiple times. None of which I got an answer within 2 weeks lol. Glad to hear that you have luck, though!

Hyrum Graff1 votes

I wasn't using support tickets :P

Some of my interaction was in posts on Boards, some was in-client.

Oh, well in that case, I tried to get Lyte on GD for about 3 weeks straight. I saw him jump on other threads "smiting" people that were toxic in about an hour. When it came to me, however, he was a ghost lol.

Hyrum Graff2 votes

Yeah, I've tried to get Lyte, too
