What's the point of all this? If you do not give a damn about this place why can't it be shaped as WE want, not as YOU want. YOU are not even coming here for most important things!

I just feel betrayed because I started to force myself to use the Boards. And then I realized 'why would i come here if riot employees do not even comer here'. I won't. Have your Boards Feedback. Good Job.

I thought the whole point of boards was more communication from reds? Nope, they just go hide in their reddit hole where all the sycophants live, god forbid they get asked a question any harder than "How many poros have you fed?", or have to see an opinion that isn't "You guys are the greatest I will now put my family in bankruptcy by buying $100000 of RP".

To be fair, the exploit wasn't even acknowledged until they fixed it (yes, security concerns, but just saying "we're aware" isn't going to break anything) and it was posted in one of the boards that doesn't interact with the Red Tracker. It's understandable that people are confused.

That being said, it's pretty amusing that the OP linked a thread that actually had a Riot response on it directly refuting his post and neglected to notice.

There were "how-to" videos on youtube.
Red posts show up in the red tracker, leading to massive visibility => More people using the exploit

It doesn't make the exploit any worse to talk about it, but it does increase instances of exploitation.

Fair point. Do you feel that a Rioter saying "We are aware of this issue and will be banning those that use it" would create that kind of activity, however? Personally, I can't see a Rioter acknowledging an exploit and tossing out a blanket ban being much of an invitation, particularly when threads are EVERYWHERE on the forums already.

A good example would be this same discussion when it was had over Rioter responses--or lack thereof--to bug reports and fixes. As large as Riot is, common sense would say that, yes, they've seen every bug report, they have someone who actively documents these things, and they're being worked on as their usual internal protocol dictates.

However, that level of logic is tossed out the window in favor of daily (if not hourly, because some people are needy like that) updates. There was one post where a guy railed on about 'no response in three days'... when the post citing the bug was made on a Saturday. People seem to think Rioters are on-call constantly (and having worked an on-call job for a year and a half, I wouldn't wish that level of misery on anyone).

Common sense would indeed say this, and I actually think bug reports are fine in that regard. I consider complaints about Riot not acknowledging bugs to be a bit unreasonable; however, when it's hundreds of people talking about something gamebreaking and seeing no Riot response, that can get very frustrating.

It's important to be able to make the distinction between legitimate complaints (it has been three years since lore has been discussed, etc.) and completely absurd complaints like the one you mention here. Hourly or even daily updates aren't necessary, though people have come to expect a certain level of communication from Riot due to the company's history.

It's essentially a balance of whatever negative effect that might have vs informing the community and potentially avoiding 200+ upvote threads of people being mad at Riot for not acknowledging the problem.

Yes, it doesn't appear on the Red Tracker if Riot doesn't acknowledge it, but it pops up everywhere else on the forums and the internet. At that point it almost doesn't matter if it's Red Tracked or not.

That's a value judgment. I was just pointing out that there are legitimate reasons why they would neglect to respond -- not actually making the judgment, because I'm not sure which way I judge. Obviously Riot judged that a response would increase abuse appreciably.

To be fair, most reds only get angry mind when they post here, even when trying to have a discussion. As soon as it's not "You guys are right, why did we think otherwise", the yelling and mass downvoting begins. It's as much our fault as it is theirs
