so i am pretty sure that i am not the only one who thinks that boards are soooo much WORSE then the original forums. To make the story short if you agree and want atleast general discussion back type in "Yes" thats it.

All the maps are bundled under one category, there is no good place for new players to ask questions, and nothing for behavior/ban discussions. There's also a fair amount of confusion about what "belongs" in some existing categories and poor feedback if a discussion is in the "wrong" place.
I can understand what Riot wanted to do (better moderation, improved 'growth' potential, upgraded security, etc.), but a good portion of what needed to be fixed was back end stuff that users don't see. From what I can tell, it's the front end that we use that has been drawing so much backlash.
I used to spend several hours a day in the forums because my toaster doesn't play league and I like to stay connected to the game. I would switch between my favorite forums (TBI, PB, NP) constantly. Now, if I log in once a day is a lot. It's annoying to navigate and worse if I'm logging in from my phone.

I'm aware "They're working on it"*, but forcing everyone to the new boards should imply some semblance of being a better product, and so far most things seem like a downgrade. They should keep the old forums so we aren't forced into this early access shit.
*I haven't seen much change at all, by the way. What exactly they're "working on" is beyond me.

I dunno, I really haven't gotten the sense that they're trying to emulate reddit. More like, take the good parts of reddit, and the good parts of the old forums, and the good parts from other forums and put them together to make an awesome platform. Which, I think it will be, once it's out of beta. More on that later.

I agree with you that Boards wasn't, and isn't, really ready for prime time. If I had to make a guess as to why they made the switch, I'd say it has to do with the one thing that Boards are much better at: Moderation. Old GD was basically turning into /b, and it was going to continue doing that unless better moderation was put in place, which they couldn't do with vBulletin.
As it is, while I didn't - and don't - agree with the switch, I think it would make less sense to switch back now.
