They also ignored several of the smaller communities in the boards creation. All the maps are bundled under one category, there is no good place for new players to ask questions, and nothing for behavior/ban discussions. There's also a fair amount of confusion about what "belongs" in some existing categories and poor feedback if a discussion is in the "wrong" place.
I can understand what Riot wanted to do (better moderation, improved 'growth' potential, upgraded security, etc.), but a good portion of what needed to be fixed was back end stuff that users don't see. From what I can tell, it's the front end that we use that has been drawing so much backlash.
I used to spend several hours a day in the forums because my toaster doesn't play league and I like to stay connected to the game. I would switch between my favorite forums (TBI, PB, NP) constantly. Now, if I log in once a day is a lot. It's annoying to navigate and worse if I'm logging in from my phone.
