Noticed that when opening a link in a new tab it brings me back to the thread I found it in. I was viewing the catchiest LoL parady song thread and when i tried to open a youtube link in a new tab, it opens the same thread again instead of the video.
I came here to post this! This basic feature makes browsing a million times more fluid for me. Especially with the external link confirmation box every single time it is tedious not to have everything open up in new tabs. Also, if you could have an opt-in option in the profile tab to bypass the external site warning that would be cool. It could just say "I understand and agree that forum posts may contain links to external sites with content that may be objectionable" and have the user check the box to bypass the warning.
Until they change something to make this work better, something you can do is click on the link you want to open. This will bring up the warning window. Then, right-click on, "I understand, and I'm going in," and click "Open link in new tab." This will open the link you want in a new tab. It's not perfect, but it's only a couple more clicks and it should work until Riot comes up with something!

I noticed this as well. It only reopens the thread when you are "facechecking the web." When you are opening a page within the league website it works correctly.
Was just about to post the exact same thing. Lol.
