I've been lurking these boards for quite some time and have read many of the discussions, but one thing I've noticed among many posts, is that people use "cancer" almost like a substitute for toxicity. People don't talk cancer or say cancerous things, it's a disease. You don't talk disease or say disease things. Be a betterment to this board and stop misusing the word.

While I dislike its use as well, it's just an extension of "toxic". It's not as though the words are any more a toxin than a carcinogen. I think seeing someone use "cancer" just denotes their age.

It's quite a dutch thing to do. The language's insults tend to be based around diseases and genitalia: Kanker, Tyfus, Tiring, Klote, Kut, Lul, Mongol, Klootzak. It basically translates to the same thing: Fuck, Fucking, Fuck you. Many dutch people cant seem to translate this to english, so they just do word for word translations.
