What is going on with S4 solo rank ?

Idk what is going on with the new solo rank system, it should pump confidence to every summoner for the new S4 season, and i know Riot is on its way of doing that. However, it looks stupid and ridiculous right new, everyone will realize it when u finish ur 10 replacement matches, and every of my friend get mad about that, but i want to talk about this: i was on plat 4 at S3 end, and i have made 8 wins out of 10 in my placements, but now i get reset to Silver 1? i know Riot has so many brilliant engineers to work on the elo calculation system, i was wondering what principle Riot was based to make a plat 4 player(8/10 wins) reset to Silver 1? is that linear algebra, Calculus, or solid geometry? although ppl will say that if u qualify for Plat level, then u should not worry about where u started , even from Wood 5, what about the time, the efforts we spend on the way to plat, diamond even challenger tier? i still dunt believe this is how Riot inspire its summoners, i believe this is just a system error, and Riot will give everyone a right tier we deserved. thank you Riot!
