Ideally, yes. There are no plans to replace the existing forums, however, so rest easy on that. Here's the basic mentality:

The Boards will replace the forums when the community there is too small to sustain itself.

Basically, the goal is to make the Boards so good that people choose to migrate from the forums to this platform. No one will be forced to come here.
