Discussion Filter Improvements

Hey there!

When viewing a list of discussions, why not allow the user to select one or multiple different "sub-communities" (or forums) and when they have all selected, they hit a button to filter it to show only selected sub-communities. You could go further to allow those changes to be saved, possibly through a cookie or setting, so that if a user only ever wants to look at sub-communities x, y, and z, they don't have to constantly re-check/re-click the same sub-communities over and over.

Also, why not add AJAX to the forums to make it run/look a little smoother? I believe vBulletin is still being used here, just with a different skin/appearance. So, I understand that it's not the easiest thing to implement. However, having to continually reload pages is old-fashioned and having single loading pages is, to me, more user-friendly and modern.

If you really want to make this into a growing community, you need to make it function like a modern community, not just have the appearance but in the technology field as well. Otherwise, not too bad!
