Hey guys! Im currently in Silver 5 and love League of Legends. I main top lane Riven Riven and i play normals everyday. I also play custom by myself to try new champions or try a new build (also probably because i have no friends Q_Q) I have this unusual fear of playing ranked, its been holding me back from climbing the ladder all through out season 3. I can't bring myself to play ranked and to lose a game and get blamed on or (hate to say this but) have a really bad team. I've played ranked couple days ago with Renekton and Riven and won both but I'm not used to playing ranked everyday. its really hard for me to just start a ranked game by myself. If anyone could help, much appreciated. Thanks ^.^

Just learn how to carry your team basically. Sine you didn't get stuck in bronze (Like me.) Just always communicate with your team and try to set up Skype calls and such so you can utilize your max playing potential. Also try to expand your knowledge on other lanes so just in case of a bad situation you can carry with an adc or a strong mid laner.

Hey Maximum, I also had a very similar fear. The way that I overcame this fear was by forcing myself to only play ranked. How do I motivate myself? I try hard in every league game I play, whether it is a normal game or ranked game, an ARAM or a troll custom game, I take it seriously and try my best to carry and win. I started substituting the normal games I played with ranked games since they are basically the same thing except that you have some rating that goes up and down as you play.

As for being raged on and having bad teammates, no matter if you play ranked or normal this will always happen. In fact I can tell you that I have experienced more ragers and trash talkers in normal games than I have found in ranked. Be courteous to your teammates, try to be flexible and if you need to, don't forget to use the ignore button. It's better than having your chat flooded with trash talk which can be demoralizing and reinforce your fear of playing ranked.

Good luck, your fear is a common one and you're not alone in the community. I spent most of my ranked season being too scared and it has only been within the past month that I finally got over my fear. I am confident you can overcome your fear too.

I would suggest solo queuing and not duo queuing. gank mid when you can. ward war ward ward tribush and baron. control the movement in between jungles. do not take damage to get cs. one health pot is how much hp? what is the max cdr percentage in this game? what is the cooldown of every ability of every champion in the game at ability level 1/2/3/4 with 10-20-30-40% cdr? gl and hope you are getting my drift

I suggest making friend, or at least finding a duo partner. It will be more fun and you can talk through mistakes and ways to play better. Sometimes if things are left unsaid, they are forgotten. Try to think through exactly what you could have done better in every situation. I hear lol replay, although glitchy, is useful.
