I Deserve to be in Bronze V, Why Do I need prelims though?

So I ended last season in Bronze V, which i was happy with.

Then I did the preseason preliminary shtick and I got 6wins and 4 losses, which I was happy with.

I got placed in bronze V, which I was upset about but w/e.

Why did I have to do preliminaries to find out I was in the same bracket? I have to play more games to get higher? I don't understand. Please help me understand the point of preliminary matches.

This is not me whining about being put back in Bronze V, If im here I deserve to be here, Ill play better and hopefully get higher. But What was the point of Doing Prelims?

Basically a soft reset is carried out on everyone's MMR. This then gives people a chance to place higher than where they currently were at the end of preseason and start their season 4 ranked from this new starting point.

Judging by your results, it seems that your MMR is low hence why you were still placed in the same div. All that means is that you want to raise your overall win rate up. This in turn will raise your MMR and help you climb up the ladder.

From what I have heard from most people playing is that on average people have been put lower. Ex. Silver 1 is now in bronze 2. Im not sure if this is what Riot was planning but I have yet to hear of any people actually ending up with a higher placement this season.

Most people have dropped even if they went 10-0 in their preliminaries. It's to basically remove all of the people who have either been boosted in ranked and then began trolling, or people who have just bought the accounts off of eBay or some site.

I won 8 out of 10 this season , but was placed in bronze V when lasts season I won 1 game and got bronze 3 this rely makes no sense what so ever my friend won 3 and got silver V I am not sure w hat riot is doing ??
