The advantage of remaking your thread over and over? It gets a lot more exposure when people are viewing threads through the "Recent" option. I've seen it abused on other forums before.

None. The forums are a popularity game and sometimes your statement is coming at the wrong time, or phrased incorrectly. Additionally, not allowing people to do this would result in a lot of duplicate threads. They will just create a new one and reword it.
