Whats the point to duplicating Reddit here. Bring Back GD

I personally really like forums over the reddit type format.

GD hasn't gone anywhere. If you dislike this format don't hesitate to suggest improvements, otherwise General Discussion is still available to you.
This is the message I have received for the past 2 days when trying to view GD.

Try to access GD with Incognito Mode (or whatever it's called on your browser) and see if it works.
PLEASE BEING BACK GD I WANT GD FOR CHRISTMAS RITO
I don't see why you would want to be insulted randomly for petty things like having an opinion or trying to figure something out. Especially for the holidays, aren't you supposed to feel good about yourself?
What makes you think people can't throw petty insults here? You're a twat. See, I just insulted you for no reason at all. The community has problems whether it's GD or this Reddit .5 (since it's not even as good as Reddit so it's only half, see what I did?).
I'm not saying it won't be a problem here; you're right, it probably WILL be a problem eventually. I just find that the people who insult and are general trolls for no reason aren't on this community and in general I've seen at lot more constructive comments and politeness. It's more about how GD is overrun with trolls (along with the occasional sensible person) and how this community isn't as populated yet and doesn't have as many of those rude people. Although I haven't been on them as much, the same could probably be said of most of the sub-forums.
Besides, GD is still there so he can just go over there if that's really what he wants to do for the holidays.
