Lucian any good?
I was wondering if Lucian is worth buying. I read the patch notes and it looks like Lucian got nerfed pretty hard but his ability set looks pretty nice. Thanks for the feedback if you give some.

i dont play or own him, but i know that he has really strong early game. thats all i know :D
He's quite a bit different from normal marksmen (ADC's), which makes people hate him for some odd reason. You can't just sit there and right-click with Lucian, you gotta weave your spells and your autos together for max damage.
That being said, he plays a bit like a mix between Ezreal and Graves, and he's still fun to play. He has great poke once you get used to his Q mechanics, and the star-shape explosion on his W means you can get hits you thought you couldn't. His ultimate has pretty specific use cases though, you can't just use it without thinking.
I actually got Lucian the day he came out and was rather unimpressed, even more so when the nerf to his passive came about. For someone who mained Cait in the ADC role he was very different than what I was used to. As Phoenix said already he is more of a burst damage dealer than a point & shoot ADC and the combination of his skills is what allows you to excel. Over the past couple months I started to see him played more & more often and it gave me a renewed interest in playing him. Once I started playing him again I realized my approach had been wrong and I hadn't been using him to potential...it was not that he was a lackluster ADC as I (and I'm guessing many of us) had originally thought.
I think he is definitely worth buying, but do so knowing he takes a bit of practice to get good with. Things like knowing how to take advantage of his passive (especially in a 1v1 situation) or how to position his ult (in team fights or across a lane to prevent someone from being able to dodge it) will be the things that make you a good Lucian player. It might be just me, but watching some of the recent pro games in which he was played (Battle of the Atlantic, Spring promo's & Champions winter in OGN) gave me some insight as to how players FAR more skilled than I both built and used him in their team comps. Those games also reinforced to me just how valuable he was when I saw the premium at which he was picked and banned in a lot of cases. Hope this helped :)
Very fun champ if you learn how to maximize his full potential.
How To:
The cast range is very limited on his Q so you want to use it on a minion in front of enemy champ.
His Ult has a pretty long range so you can use it to finish off an enemy that is just our of range for W or auto.
Always remember that his E can be used to get back to safety after Q'ing directly at an enemy.
Lastly while his passive second shot does 1/2 damage to champions it does full damage to minions. Use this to your advantage while pushing lane.
