Big Plays: Galio’s Tower of Terror

Sometimes it’s better to just give up an objective, especially when the enemy team’s super minions are marching down mid lane.

By defending their bot inner turret, the purple team wedges themselves between two equally deadly initiations. Capitalizing on this vulnerability, 배불러요—a Gold-ranked Galio player—drops a ward and waits for the enemy to make a choice: engage or retreat. Just as Vi chooses to initiate, Galio responds with an aggressive over-the-wall Flash ult that splits Vi from her teammates. Six seconds and an Amumu ult later, the blue team nets a clean ace and joins their minions for the game-winning push.

Man, its sad nobody plays Galio anymore. He's such a fun champ to play, i mean, that shield is just awesome! It's one of my favorite abilities when i play him! But even though Galio is free, nobody plays him for some reason, i guess he's a pretty hard champ to play and you need lots of practice to get good as him. Thanks for showing a great Galio play :D

Ok seriously... why are people downvoting all the Galio comments? I don't understand why people are so against this champion getting some love, especially when its a champ you rarely see- all it proves is that if you take the time to learn anyone, they CAN BE GOOD. So, I say, lets upvote all Galio comments! Who's with me?!

The first ever "Big Plays" with a champ that isn't standard top-tier picks and doesn't have resets? Tell me more.

While it was a good play, and game deciding...

  1. The team defending wasn't a team fight composition, yet they chose to start an engage
  2. A Renekton of higher caliber would've pressed W after seeing galio flash in and have a free interupt on him after being taunted. (This is extremely easy to do)
  3. Vayne had Cleanse/Merc Scimitar (can't tell which) and uses it late, a higher caliber Vayne would've cleanse condemned him. (This is slightly harder but still extremely easy)
  4. Against that team composition Nami should have a Mikael's (pretty much first item is standard) by that late into the game, which can be used while CC'ed, easily counter engaging with ultimate if she self casted.

This was basically a play where the enemy team rolled over and died, rather than fighting back they threw their hands into the air. It was a good Wombo Combo, that came with a ballsy flash to start it off. The enemy team had a ton of ways to fight against it, and instead uses none of them.

Finally! A big plays spotlight about a champ that actually has to try when pulling off big plays. Far more impressive then flashy features about Katerina and Lee Sin.

....Eh. It's nice, but I (as an avid Galio player myself) have done things like this a lot. It's not that hard to pull of something like this, if you're used to playing Galio at least. I think the true mastery of this video is how well Amumu follows up right after. In all honesty, he probably didn't mean to separate Vi from her team, simply just catch most of them in his ult.

I play galio in ranked.. Just went 13-5-19 with him as mid galio. If anyone is interested in learning Galio I recommend item 3265 item 3027 item 3157 item 3065 item 3075 item 3026 For a general all around absurdly tanky build. Remember he get AP off MR so you're lookin around 400+ ap, 3k+'ish HP, close to 300 armor/mr before you shield. Thornmail is optional, depends how AD heavy the team is, but it combo's well with his ulti.

I had a thought for a Galio Remake that wold make him viable, and even played often.

So instead of his current passive, it would be replaced by a spell shield that blocks one source of crowd control. It would recharge every 30 seconds, but each time he is hit, the cooldown goes down by 1 second. (2 seconds if hit by an enemy champion.)

His Q and W are fine, and are pretty much essential to him.

But for his E, he now dashes forward half the distance of his current E, then, if he collides with the enemy, pulling them forward with him for the rest of the current E range. Then, the allied speed boost is created. If he doesn't hit an enemy, the speed boost is shorter.

This could help him with his problems that most people who play Galio have.

Then, for his ult, I would give it a passive that convert 5% of damage taken into AP for 1.5 seconds, so he can fulfill his role of a guardian because he can take shots and give some back.

If that amumu hadn't been there, that play would have ended so badly. Mainly because vi literally cut off the damage form the rest of the team by herself, so no one was doing any damage during Galio's ult.

While I love Galio,a nd this paly was sweet, Amumu is the real shiner here, he saved the day.

BORINGGGGGG... maybe i shud start uploading my own plays.... DOES no one not notice that this wud be a GIANT WASTE OF A GAL ult if AMU isnt there to ult as well? The player literally pressed 2 buttons, flash and R.....
