Sometimes it’s better to just give up an objective, especially when the enemy team’s super minions are marching down mid lane.

By defending their bot inner turret, the purple team wedges themselves between two equally deadly initiations. Capitalizing on this vulnerability, 배불러요—a Gold-ranked Galio player—drops a ward and waits for the enemy to make a choice: engage or retreat. Just as Vi chooses to initiate, Galio responds with an aggressive over-the-wall Flash ult that splits Vi from her teammates. Six seconds and an Amumu ult later, the blue team nets a clean ace and joins their minions for the game-winning push.

Man, its sad nobody plays Galio anymore. He's such a fun champ to play, i mean, that shield is just awesome! It's one of my favorite abilities when i play him! But even though Galio is free, nobody plays him for some reason, i guess he's a pretty hard champ to play and you need lots of practice to get good as him. Thanks for showing a great Galio play :D

Galio is an amazing champ. But I also understand y people down voted the comment. The problem is that he says this, "i guess he's a pretty hard champ to play and you need lots of practice to get good as him." Many people, slightly including myself, don't believe Galio takes much skill or practice or what ever.

If more then anything, as one person stated lower down, Galio needs teamwork, He's a tank/mage and can do a fair bit, especially if someone gets stuck in his ult, but most times he won't be able to kill someone outright so someone else needs to follow up on that. I think if anything a good Galio summoner needs good timing and good team.

He's a great champ, especially against heavy AP teams. MR Scales into his AP which is crazy awesome, making grail even more viable. I don't use galio, but with some practice I might add him into my ranked rotation. Just not yet. He's also downvoted alot because he's not a hypercarry, and evferyone in solo queue picks hypercarries. Galio requires good folloups and team cohesion, and let's not forget that the majority of votes come from bronze/silver/gold divisions since they make up over 60% of the entire NA population.

Ok seriously... why are people downvoting all the Galio comments? I don't understand why people are so against this champion getting some love, especially when its a champ you rarely see- all it proves is that if you take the time to learn anyone, they CAN BE GOOD. So, I say, lets upvote all Galio comments! Who's with me?!

Galio isn't bad, just because the pro don't play him, does not justify a champion being bad. It's just that noone is willing to put in dedication and learn a champion such as this person- who did.

While it was a good play, and game deciding...

The team defending wasn't a team fight composition, yet they chose to start an engage
A Renekton of higher caliber would've pressed W after seeing galio flash in and have a free interupt on him after being taunted. (This is extremely easy to do)
Vayne had Cleanse/Merc Scimitar (can't tell which) and uses it late, a higher caliber Vayne would've cleanse condemned him. (This is slightly harder but still extremely easy)
Against that team composition Nami should have a Mikael's (pretty much first item is standard) by that late into the game, which can be used while CC'ed, easily counter engaging with ultimate if she self casted.

This was basically a play where the enemy team rolled over and died, rather than fighting back they threw their hands into the air. It was a good Wombo Combo, that came with a ballsy flash to start it off. The enemy team had a ton of ways to fight against it, and instead uses none of them.

I know it at least does with Tenacity, but idk about anything else... Although either way, if Renekton had reacted quickly enough, it hardly would've made a difference.

I play galio in ranked.. Just went 13-5-19 with him as mid galio. If anyone is interested in learning Galio I recommend item 3265 item 3027 item 3157 item 3065 item 3075 item 3026 For a general all around absurdly tanky build. Remember he get AP off MR so you're lookin around 400+ ap, 3k+'ish HP, close to 300 armor/mr before you shield. Thornmail is optional, depends how AD heavy the team is, but it combo's well with his ulti.

its a bad idea to go pure mr unless they have literally all ap champs. mainly ap doesnt mean all ap. if they have a viable comp they're gonna have at least 1 ad champ, and you gotta be prepared for them being their most fed. also, the thornmail helps when you ult and when you may need to tank a tower.

When you go tankey, captain on your boots is very solid. First off Galio is about movement control, and captain reinforces his identity as a utility based tank. But homeguards, being homeguards are very good.

....Eh. It's nice, but I (as an avid Galio player myself) have done things like this a lot. It's not that hard to pull of something like this, if you're used to playing Galio at least. I think the true mastery of this video is how well Amumu follows up right after. In all honesty, he probably didn't mean to separate Vi from her team, simply just catch most of them in his ult.

ya, that wave clear certainly doesn't suck, especially not late game. all of them have at least one aoe high damage ability. as for being abused, I have played every one of these champions and I can honestly say you could not abuse these guys very easily.

lol, do you think that a play is just one guy smashing up the enemy team? Not always, I don't know if you saw the big play with Le Blanc and Thresh, but it was a play about how much teamwork they had to psych out the enemy team and score an ace all by themselves. I don't think this is as much of a play of galio, but how well his teammates responded to his action.

I had a thought for a Galio Remake that wold make him viable, and even played often.

So instead of his current passive, it would be replaced by a spell shield that blocks one source of crowd control. It would recharge every 30 seconds, but each time he is hit, the cooldown goes down by 1 second. (2 seconds if hit by an enemy champion.)

His Q and W are fine, and are pretty much essential to him.

But for his E, he now dashes forward half the distance of his current E, then, if he collides with the enemy, pulling them forward with him for the rest of the current E range. Then, the allied speed boost is created. If he doesn't hit an enemy, the speed boost is shorter.

This could help him with his problems that most people who play Galio have.

Then, for his ult, I would give it a passive that convert 5% of damage taken into AP for 1.5 seconds, so he can fulfill his role of a guardian because he can take shots and give some back.

Galio IS viable. Viable != top-tier the-best high-pick-rate. In solo queue, malzahar has a really high win rate for example, but do you ever see him in competitive play? Nope. He isn't considered "top-tier". But this certainly doesn't mean he isn't viable - every champion in the game is viable to some extent.

Besides, it looks like a nerf to his current E's purpose (AOE damage and a huge speed buff for your team in a direction) that makes him "easier to play" but not "better", or even really as good as he is.

The passive, while strong, pushes him into a tank-exclusive role. One of Galio's primary strengths is that he has all of what he has - moderate damage, major utility, strong sustain, etc - all while being able to be very tanky. Taking away some of his damage (passive... and it's a LOT) and replacing it with tank-type effects makes him less well-rounded and more forced into one build path. Which isn't what we want to see.

TL;DR - Galio is fine. Not being popular != not viable, not fun, not strong. In case you haven't noticed, in most games nowadays, people go for "top-tier" picks like the metasheep they are, rather than playing the game for enjoyment, fun, and variety.

If that amumu hadn't been there, that play would have ended so badly. Mainly because vi literally cut off the damage form the rest of the team by herself, so no one was doing any damage during Galio's ult.

While I love Galio,a nd this paly was sweet, Amumu is the real shiner here, he saved the day.
