Big Plays: Why Yasuo Never Sleeps

RiotPreeti·9/19/2014, 7:58:45 PM·151 votes·219,545 views

Welcome to the Big Plays Spotlight! In this feature, we highlight the most epic plays, from meticulously-coordinated early tower dives to mind-blowing cross-map jukes.

Here’s a great example of why you should never feel safe (or start shopping) until you’re back in base:

After a close 2-0 exchange, an extremely low-health Michael Jaxson retreats to the safety of his turret. Just as he begins to recall, a blind Ashe arrow seeks to claim his final 10 HP. With godlike reflexes, the Unforgiven throws down a clutch Wind Wall just in time to deny the terrifyingly-precise assassination attempt.

Let’s see those reflexes in slow motion.

We’d love to feature your biggest plays, so post a link in the comments below or submit your clip here!

Let's be honest me not tanking that tower made this play happen

As someone who mains Ashe, I find this content offensive.

To me this is much more evidence of Yasuo's wall needing nerfed than of Yasuo beeing pro.

Ashe knew where he'd be FROM BOT LANE and fired that arrow with the timing necessary to hit him, and he dodged it with a skill that has 1/4th ashe's cooldown, not to mention he wasn't paying attention and blocked it the last possible moment he could've.

The ashe is the one displaying champion mastery and skill here. The Yasuo is just benefiting from an overly-strong ability that only takes away from the game, by negating obviously much higher-skill moves.

You could almost say that play was a thriller

I don't think this should be a BIG PLAY... I personally think it's not hard to do that if you're a skilled lvl 30 player. Please haters don't hate, it's just my opinion <3

The thing is, this was well timed and everything but this is not something awesome or crazy, every yasuo player should be able to wall ults I do it all the time. Still no hate gj to him :D

What i like more is the precision of the ashe arrow :D

Like i said, NO hate. Enjoy and have a good weekend you all

This isn't some clutch play at all. I can't even count how many times I've seen almost every Yasuo block an ult, or some last hit skillshot, all at the last possible moment. Sure, it was a nice save, but it went past Malphite and the tower. And to call that Ashe arrow blind is an insult. It is the most satisfying thing to hit that arrow, or Jinx's rocket, or Ezreals Ult since I can't remember what it's called, requiring quite a bit of knowledge on the lead and on where people would go to recall. Honor the Ashe.

The king of pop, moon-walking his way out of another bad situation.

to be fair, Riot probably doesn't get many remotely good plays to chose from, so, this may be the best they have.

Props to the Michael Jaxson for the good reflexes (If you didn't see it coming), but this isn't a "pro play". First off, the more "pro play" was the accuracy of Ashe's arrow. Pretty much any Yasuo play can pull this off if they see it coming, it takes an Ashe of pretty good skill to shoot and arrow from half the map and hit (as if no wind wall) with it.

Just for reference to those saying the wall only blocks skillshots you obviously don't know what it does. It blocks ALL projectiles, auto attacks, targeted ranged spells, hell even item activations like gunblade and DFG. It's reasons like that, that i say that wall is one of the biggest cancers of this game one spell on a semi low cooldown that literally negates half if not all of some champs kits and by some i mean like every ranged character in the game so it isn't just one of those, "every champ has something to counter some other champ" situations. Honestly the fact that this made "pro plays" makes me sad as i agree the only pro play in this video was dat ashe Ashe

Report Michael Jaxson, misleading name. He/She should be playing Jax, not Yasuo.....Or Warwick. ;)

I think the play is great on both sides. Aiming like that took skill on Ashe's part, and reacting like that took skill on Yasuo's part. I know I probably couldn't have reacted as well (being easily distracted by talking and shops), and honestly, most players probably couldn't. Everyone just assumes everything is easy XD... Good stuff doe.

Amazed at the people saying it was a poor play. Seems like there is always someone saying the play doesn't deserve to be posted on here. Stop being bronze and just appreciate the reflexes.
