Dishonorable Permanent?

So, as of the 15th I came off a temp ban and was locked out of Honor. Then I unlocked it and have been on level 0 of 3 for about a week, and I've been honored between 1 and 3 times per games (I binge a lot) and I'm feeling like this is a lock out. I've read lots of posts about people being unable to get out of Honor Prison for months at a time. Why is it like this? Seems counterproductive to lock people out of the only carrot on a stick to not be toxic.

If you're Honor Level is no longer locked, then (as you may have already seen in those discussions about players being unable to climb in Honor) your behavior is the only thing preventing you from climbing. Valid (even if not punishable) reports made against you can slow or harm your Honor Progress, meaning that, if you're still being negative, and getting reported for it, even if the reports do not result in a punishment, your Honor Progress can be slowed.

However, it's also worth noting that Honor Progress is not a weeklong/monthlong ordeal in most cases. It is somewhat shorter when re-climbing from a recent drop in Honor, but, you can't expect to be at Honor Level 1 or 2 in such short order.

Takes 4-6 months to get back to level 1

From a thread where someone got out of honor 0 in 5 days, Riot Tantram explained why it takes longer for many people.

[{quoted}](name=Riot Tantram,realm=NA,application-id=ZGEFLEUQ,discussion-id=2dLK3IWP,comment-id=0005,timestamp=2018-04-18T17:51:19.761+0000)

When people receive valid reports, that aren't enough to trigger a penalty, it still affects their progression through the honor system. This is often times what creates the perception for honor 0 players that it takes forever to climb. They think that just because they are getting honored and not penalized, it must mean they are progressing. This is not so.

The honor gained from post game honors is worth very very little. Playing a game without any negative behavior is worth the most. The bonus from everyone on the team honoring is next. Then least is the individual honors.

So I would focus attention first on not being negative or saying anything that the IFS flags as negative. Second, if you can, promote teamwork or minimize discord so that everyone is more likely to honor post game. Last is somehow setting yourself apart to earn individual honors.

Ok, so according to Tantram, it takes, on average, 3 months for a player to get out of dishonorable.

This is totally dependent on you though. If you are super reformed, you will get out of dishonorable faster. If you aren't reformed and continue to go down the same path, you will take longer. If you are struggling and have good games and bad games, it'll take you about 3 months.

There are some other posts on the forums that I'd have to dig up that discuss how your chats are scored, but sufficed to say, if you are toxic but not enough to get punished with a chat restriction, you will slow your progress down and stay dishonored longer.

I can't remember who said it, but I definitely remember a red saying the key to getting out of dishonorable is not about getting honors, but to not be dishonorable in your games.

Honor is a grind, my man. You not only need to be consistently honorable, but you also need your team to actual click the honor button. It'll take awhile, but it'll come.

Why is everyone who DOESN'T work for Riot always come into these threads spewing things they've heard other people said and not rioters. Blows my mind everytime.
