Got insulted because i would like to have english as team communication.

Hi, i recently got insulted because there were 2 people, non premades speaking the same language, not english... and i asked them to speak english so the whole team can understand. They could speak english, cause they did in chat before the match started. During the game however they communicated in an other language.

When i asked the second time i got insulted harshly in their language and in english by both and as argument they said... "Britain is out of the EU cause of the Brexit, fk that language now it#s time to speak <their language>".

I don't know how to deal with such situations, to me it sounds really nationalistic and does not add to team communication. Is that reportable when you get inulted for asking to cooperate with the team?

pings & CD pings are enough for basic communication.

plus its not needed to know what they are saying.

It is not reportable, you can choose to chat or not at your discretion. And you can speak any language you want.

Personally, the only thing I can say is mute them and move on.

I despise it when people start speaking in tongues, because it acts as a distraction to those who don't speak it. League is frustrating enough without a communication barrier to worry about. So frankly, I'd report them anyway, since they could speak English but refused to because "F*ck you."

That last comment isn't even an exaggeration. You'd be amazed how many times they broke from Non-English just to say "F*ck you." or "Report."

In short, I don't care if people are speaking other languages. I only care if they go out of their way to insult you.

We can't report someone for not speaking our language, though. I'm not saying you're reporting people for that, but if anyone wants to report someone for that then I think they're wrong.

If they didn't use pings and were just talking to each other than its obvious they were trying to troll and piss people off. Also there is probably some universal langauge that would be pretty easy to pick up like gank or mia (im sure that there are foriegn versions of it as well). Trundle

Just report them for verbal abuse if you don't know what they are saying. Then if they were being naughty, then they get banned. If they said nothing bad, then it doesn't matter. Nothing wrong with using other languages as long as they aren't doing it to try and avoid filters.

You said yourself:

They could speak english

So, if they wanted to communicate with you, they would have. Maybe they were just talking to each other casually. When I play with some of my friends and we're not all on voice comms we tend to chat in German. That doesn't mean I won't switch to English when it's actually relevant to the team.

Edit: Obviously doesn't make it okay to insult you for asking them to talk English... just saying it was an odd/unnecessary request to begin with.

I don't know why but it absolutely bothers me when people on NA type in Chinese pinyin even tho they speak English. I mean why the hell do u think it's necessary to type in Chinese pinyin

By curiosity, was their language Spanish? Because if so, they won't stop speaking it until they are bored of calling you a "pendejo" or a "coño" or insulting your madre.

No offense to nice Spanish people, I've met a lot of those as well.

Bulletin point time EXCITING :D 1: "to me it sounds really nationalistic" ~ Doesn't this post also sound nationalistic - Speak my language otherwise imma write a post about you and maybe even report you- 2: Also they are allowed to speak what ever language they want , for team communication riot has said all they have to do really is ping. 3: Since they aren't fluent in english its probably not easy typing fast in english, imagine learning german and while trying to type the langauge also trying to remember .. how do i spell it? Am I typing what I really mean. 4: "Insert emotional poem here" 5: If you want to report them for toxic feel free to, but you can't report them for speaking an other language sorry.

FINAL JUDGEMENT : Overlooking reasons they may want to not talk english in chat, I believe you are in the wrong for wanting to force them to speak english, the only reportable thing i see for them is perhaps toxicity.

I know what you felt like .. it can be frustrating. Hmm, though .. it makes me wonder, how many languages fall under the region of "NA" or "EUW" even..? There are many languages that are spoken in west Europe right?

Seen that way, it looks fair that they could speak their own language. Why not right? I mean, it is a sever based in their own region of the globe.

I DO understand your feeling. It can be frustrating to live in an English-speaking community but have people not be able to understand what we're saying properly, or be able to communicate to us .. since, a community is based on being able to communicate without misunderstandings.

Maybe, though, since LoL is a lot wider and the regions don't have borders .. Well, we should try to be extra understanding I suppose?
