Maybe there should be a form of pre-game report?

Forgive me if I have this on the wrong board, btw.

The purpose of this thread is not to say off meta picks are bad, but to talk about possible ways we can deal with troll picks/trolling in champ select

So I was queued for a game and I was placed into the mid lane role. Someone on our team banned Kayn when another teammate had picked him. (The other team also banned Kayn as well.) Our team was first pick and I was the second to pick on my team. The person above me (who is the first to pick their champion) was placed in the support role but took my intended pick, which was Ahri. Our person queued for jungle locked in Ashe and said it worked. Before the pre-game ended, the person playing Ahri support switched their exhaust for Smite and said in the game they would double jungle, leaving our Varus alone in the bot lane.

I really don't think this is an okay thing to do, so maybe there needs to be a Report button or something for pre-game? I did report the two post game (along with other things they did during the game) but I'm not sure if Support would take into consideration anything they did before the game actually started. Of course, the pre game report can be for other various things as well.

Edit: I want to clarify I'm not against off Meta picks. The issue with the Ashe player is that they purposely chose an off meta champion out of saltiness because their intended pick was banned. I have no idea what the Ahri player was thinking, but not only were they queued for support and decided to play double jungle at the last minute, they purposely chose a champion that was someone else's intended pick. I would have no reason to report them for anything if they had stayed in lane with Varus and actually played support (though I admit I will still be a little salty about them taking my intended pick). They said "why should I care?" In game when I pointed that out, so then it was very clear they wanted to troll. These people weren't OTPs or mains. If they were I would trust their decision to play those champs.

Edit 2: also to clarify, everyone on our team was matched up with us previously. Kayn was also banned in the previous match, causing what I assume is the Ashe-Kayn player to Dodge. For whatever reason, the system matches all of us again. Kayn is banned again but they choose Ashe. What I don't understand is why the system likes to match the exact same people up if someone dodged.

I know they're looking into ways to help correct player behavior in before game lobbies, but I'm not sure how they're going to go about it.

Too many times games start off on the wrong foot because of arguments or team issues in pick-ban, but it's a hard thing to fix. If they implement a "kick" system, players can just get kicked because the team doesn't like their champion or they want to find another person to try to get different roles (because of auto fill). 4-man lobbies can attack the random for not picking certain champions, and a pre-game report system would in the end be the same as a post-game report system (unless they gave you the option to file for two different reports to add priority, but I think that would just make it more complicated, especially if they ended up being a cool guy).

I completely agree with you, but every proposed method doesn't seem to have a safe-proof.

Do you have any ideas? [slayer-pantheon-rainbows]

One thing that would solve it, the ability to dodge 1-2 games a day with no lock out penalty. see someone toxic? free dodge and move onto the next one.

My suggestion would be to implement a vote kick system. But make it so it can only be initiated by the same player every 5 games, and if the player initating the vote is in a premade, everyone in their group is locked from votekicking for 5 games as well, however locked players may still vote on existing kick attempts. this allows you to avoid obvious trolls, while preventing premades from kicking people if someone on their team gets autofilled or if someone wants to play off meta. It would also requre a 3/2 majority. To prevent duo trolls from vetoing.

Then. After a successful votekick report screen will pop up with the following options.

  • the player was being abusive in chat
  • the player was threatening to troll or throw the game
  • the player was refusing to communicate
  • the player deliberately banned an allies champ.
  • none of the above

The player kicked would receive zero penalty. barring any review by the report system , and be immediately placed back in the queue

Nah dude, you're just a meta sheep MAAAAAAAAn. Experimental builds work it's OBVIOUSLY your fault for not making it work my dude.

Honestly though, jungler roles should be forced to take smite, as well as vice versa for other lanes.

Well technically, there's the off-route screenshot and file a report directly with support. It's a stretch, but still an option.

It would be much more convenient to include something within the client, so +1.

We should be able to just report players by clicking a newly added "report" button, it would have same window as normal reporting window except you could enter the name by hand manually.

That way no-lifers like you could do nothing all day but keep spamming riot with random report tickets because riot has nothing better to do than just read them, lul.

I am sorry, but RIot has not been able to implement this feature since season 2 they promise it to us.

Instead they have implemented punishment to queue dodgers.

Yes, I fully agree with that. I had a teammate ban my ezreal just because quote: "It's a sh~t champ" as I hovered over it and being in the tilted state I was, I inted the game and got banned. There should be a report system for pre-game in the form where 3 out of the 4 remaining players can cast a vote and cancel the queue, punishing the trolling guy to wait as if he dodged a queue (30 mins) and in repeated offense just ban him altogether. Champ select trolling exists and it affects the whole game afterwards, but the people that do it get away with it. Rito pls.

Siredor7/16/2017, 6:39:23 PM1 votes

we really need that there are people that troll champion select to force player leave and publicly brags about it

Noblewind7/14/2017, 9:00:10 PM1 votes

Isn't easy for Riot, I can totally see the need for this but at the same time see people just reporting others for something as simple as picking a non meta champ they don't agree with. You know it would happen.

MonkeyMadness7/14/2017, 11:03:15 PM1 votes

Nope, and both of them should receive instant permabans for shitting on ranked integrity and obvious trolling. But they never will because riot games doesn't give a flying fuck.
