I was wondering if you can report someone (in this case my bot lane) for speaking a different language (in this case french) when they very clearly know english and that's what the rest of the team speaks. In this case I reported them anyway because i also know the language and they were being toxic as hell.

Chermorg1 votesThere is no requirement for them to communicate via text at all, much less in your preferred language. If they use pings, they are communicating fine with you.
If they are constantly filling the chat with things that are unrelated to the game or toxic in another language, they can be punished for that accordingly.
TheChillPill1 votesHow is one supposed to know whether they were toxic when we don't understand their language? Speaking foreign languages that are not known by the entire team should be forbidden altogether.

2: Why would you care if someone is toxic if you don't know they're toxic? Only people with some sort of extreme paranoia would assume that they are being flamed just because someone is talking another language.
If you don't like others talking different languages then mute them, but it's never going to be against the rules.

There is also no requirement that you communicate with the team, although I appreciate it may have been frustrating for you in this instance.

For something like that, it was that it had the appearances of trolling, and they hadn't properly conveyed their intent -- I believe. I'm no expert on that situation.
But you don't have to communicate -- otherwise not typing in chat would be a reportable offense, after all.

As long as the communication isn't "negative", it isn't wrong. If you can not understand your teammate or that there is none due to no typing, it's k, but if they go out of their way to obstruct communication for malicious purposes, it's no good.
The latter is hard to prove, too.
