Homophobes in a ton of matches ~ I will now /mute all at the start of every game.

Hey guys, I just wanted to hear your guys thoughts on this subject. In a bunch of my games (Probably 1/5 matches) I run into a homophobic person, and as soon as they speak out, the other homophobes join in. And yes, I know, 50% of them are probably trolling and trying to piss me off, but it HARD tilts me when someone in the game says something like "thats gay" or "you're a %%%", or just uses the word "gay" as a word to describe something negative/bad. It happens a lot, and it's really frustrating. No, I am not gay myself but it's impossible for me to not stand up against hateful people, which ends up ruining my game because me and the homophobe end up typing the entire match. And I know, trust me, you might think I'm some "social justice keyboard warrior", but with all the hate crimes i'm seeing on the news these days, I've decided to /mute all every game, because Its lost me so many games and really makes me frustrated. Feel free to ask me any questions, and don't just dislike this without talking to me. Edit: I find it funny how instantly this post is in the negative votes. Shows how homophobic this community is. I guess my decision is I will /mute all every game. Thx guys :) [zombie-brand-clap]

Can I use the word retard? Cancer? Where is the line?

What if I call a person a he, when they have male body parts but identifies as a female because they feel like it? Is that wrong?

It gets to a point where using the literal definition is is deemed morally wrong. I should have called them a queer female transgender while male body parts right?

I took a pshycology class at my college, but alot of it had to do with a ton of random gender stuff. cis-gendered pansexual gender schema gender roles heteronormative gender binary

You know something is wrong when you have several words that literally just mean you're male, and you consider yourself male.

Gender doesn't even mean gender anymore. Its means your gender cultural rather than biological.

No idea how this class was psych 100, general psych. I didn't learn much about psych, but I ~~learned ~~ regurgitated random gender shit.

1 in 5 games? What are you typing in chat? You're provoking people in some way. People argue, but I don't see something like that very often. Usually just random pinging or poor flaming. The enemy flaming someone on our team is a bit more rare.

Please, just stop focusing on the negatives and look at the positives. You probably don't care about murders, rapes, diseases, or starvation occurring, but I bet you're angry when a cop shoots a black man (justified or not).

There are youtube channels (probably censored and dying now) that show the cams the police wear on them. You won't see any of these heroes on the news.

I mean, colleges are trying to teach me this bs lol and even Youtube is going downhill because they're censoring free speech since the CEO is a feminist. But you still care about a 13 year old calling another player gay in league of legends.

Also, just because a person uses the word gay, doesn't mean they're homophobic. Its offensive because people use it synonymous to the word stupid. They're calling the opponent's champion stupid. It has nothing to do with homosexuals.

Internet isn't your safespace. We can have different opinions and thats alright.

I'm gay myself, I can mildly relate to you but then at the same time I keep joking about my own sexuality or making advanced sarcasm (thats so straight).

If it's a joke or in a context of sarcasm I usually don't mind but when it get serious I get tilted as well lol

Just mute people that piss you off instantly, it'll help

Arguing in chat can lead to punishments for both you and them, so to protect yourself, I'd avoid the arguments.

If you would like to help remove them from our game, mute and report.

I cannot remember the last time anyone has brought up the topic of sexual orientation in any of my games... How are you experiencing this in one out of five?

When it comes to those kinds of people your best bet is to just mute them, report and move on. I know you said that it's impossible for you to not fight back but quite frankly I find that hard to believe. Think of it this way: the more time you spend arguing in chat the less you're spending on actually playing the game itself. I've found that most (keyword: most) of the time if you don't give them a negative response that they'll quiet down and go back to playing the League of Legends game instead of the verbal harassment game. Again in those situations where it's clear that they won't listen it's better to just mute, report and move on rather than contribute to the negative environment. Is it hard to not want to say something at times? Yes, but in this case the benefits outweigh the risks.

P.S. Don't really know why you're getting downvoted but whatever.
