People Instalocking

This is a rant, If you are easily offended, I suggest exiting. Do note that this is normals. So my last game, I had two people instalocking and then feeding. I just wanted to ask : why do people do this? I mean, the top laner instalocked and fed, but he didn't blame the entire team, so i'm kinda cool. The jungler, however instalocked and fed, and he fed. He yelled at all of us, claimed that we always stole kills from him (even though he was already dead, and he was the most toxic player I've ever seen. This game brought me to think : There has to be a way to make people stop instalocking. Can you guys think of a way to stop people from instalocking? Maybe tell Riot about?

Instalocking isn't necessarily against the rules; however, it is an unwritten rule that you respect first call. Regardless, if you'd like to get a role that you'd like, Draft Pick might be what you're looking for. Otherwise, participating in a 5-man premade can do the trick. When you go into a Blind Pick environment, you'll have people who respect the first call, but there may be times where someone REALLY wants to play a certain role. In these cases, you just have to play around them. If things become negative or toxic, then that's something that you can report on, but until then, it's just respect for the unwritten "first call" rule.

I'm looking to create a post in the near future to clarify a lot of questions that people have about the Arbiters, but to answer your question, Arbiters are selected based on (1) availability within the program and (2) activity within Player Behavior & Moderation. If we see people who are good candidates, we'll reach out to them. Now that I'm a Senior Arbiter, I'll be working closely with our recruitment initiatives to fill any gaps that we have within the program.

Instant locking champs has nothing do with Players which feed. Nonesense post.

People could also be playing normals just to play a certain champion. The whole point of them playing the normal game was to play the champion, otherwise they might just play Ranked. Hence they instalock. If it really offends you then you can always dodge or if it doesn't then play around it.

i'll instant lock a champ if I want to practice it, regardless of position.

Nah riot won't ban him, i played with some guys like this yesterday, report by 4+ votes and he still in the next game and the day after.

He was not banned because the system does not operate in such a way.

The automatic chat system is activated if enough reports are made over a given number of games. To be clearer, if 9 people report someone once, it won't do crap. Yet, if someone is reported once per game, for say, 15 games in a row, then the system will activate a chat review and if too much slurring or toxicity is detected, the player receives a chat restriction. So if 4 people report you over 3 consecutive games, chances are you'll get spotted by the system.

That is for Chat issues, as for griefing and trolling, the report system works in the same way but most of the time manual reviews are done by Rioters and punishements are not as swift unless its an obvious and recuring behavior.

If a player feeds 2/12/1 in 30 minutes, and single handedly loses you a game, chances are he just had a really, really bad game. Maybe he is intoxicated, maybe he is trying a champ for the first time. There are plenty of reasons to look at. Feeding for a game will never get you banned. But if such a behavior is repeated enough over several games, say 4-5 games, then a manual review is done.
