Never Judge a Book by its Cover

I'm going to start this post by being 100% honest. I haven't always been the least toxic player in League of Legends. I very well may have been the most at one point.

I've been playing off and on since early season 3 and have had a few punishments in the form of temporary bans due to toxic behavior. I won't get into specifics, everyone already knows what I'm talking about.

I'll take a moment to thank Riot for never seeing reason to perma-ban me. I have grown as a league player and haven't been in trouble for awhile now. Thanks to them for giving me a chance at reform.

I'm a ranked buff and that's all I play lately. I also really enjoy analyzing my games post-match to see how I can improve.

As I was checking champ stats on lolskill.net I reminisced on an anti-meta pick I made in one game. Orianna support. I had run it with am old friend before, she has a shield, high base damage, ms buff/debuff. I thought it would work ok. Turns out I was wrong and my ADC was an a totally different page than I was. Needless to say we ended up losing one of those "laning phase ok, mid game teamfights get destroyed" matches.

Despite my best efforts to resist feeding I ended up something like 2/10/10 with my only ranked game this season so far.

Just now I wanted to play Yasuo mid, but top had first pick over me and wasn't budging. I told in chat I planned to take Orianna mid to support our team play potential. This led to a moral boost for Yas. It also led to a later pick picking up Vi jungle and Leona support for the same reason.

This game went very well for me. I got first blood over Fizz, and subsequently reached lvl 3 as he was still 1. I pushed lane too far while bullying Fizz and the enemy Xin had an excellent gank from which I died. 1/1/0 After this I picked up another kill on Fizz, then roamed bot with Vi that ended in a double leaving me 4/1/0 just that quick. Things started to go downhill. Our team lost quite a lot of coordination. A few of us died multiple times getting caught and not grouping efficiently. We got slightly behind, most of team was negative in score yet this never seemed to effect our attitudes. We all finally decided that we needed to group and prevent Xin and Trundle from getting picks on us. 20-25 minutes in we started utilizing some of our sick combos, with me either submarining the ball via Leo or Vi, or initiating with good ball placement from fog of war.

I'm kinda in a hurry to finish.

Paraphrased: My only game for Ori was trash on paper, but when I picked her to support team and helped keep team positive, good things happened and we came back for a victory with me finishing 10-4-23 and most of the team with a strong positive KDA.

Never judge a book by it's cover. Read it a little bit first.
