I'm a soft inter, AMA
Hey all,
Before I start, I would like to mention that I am posting from my very first League account. This account was perm'd back in 2015ish. I will be keeping the identity of my other accounts anonymous for obvious reasons, although I am fully aware that Riot can easily find them out real quick.
I wanted to make this AMA in case any people out there were curious as to what our mentality is and why we do what we do. Below is some general information about me:
-
My second account (current main) is currently 2 years old. It has received three(?) 25-game chat restrictions but has never been banned. I don't soft int on my main obviously. Highest rank reached was plat 5.
-
My current smurf that I'm soft inting with is around Bronze III elo I think. Hard to tell with preseason + it's relatively new.
-
I think I've outgrown the game, which is probably one of the biggest contributors to why I have a smurf for inting. I think I have only played 5 games in the past two and a half months on my main. I also don't play too much on my smurf to int either, probably only one or two games a night at most (with gaps).
-
While I do end up soft-inting most (98%) of my games, I don't really start out the game set on inting. I usually start only if one of my teammates starts flaming either me or someone else. Soft inting is only fun if you get a reaction and nothing is easier than getting a reaction from someone who is already predisposed to flaming. If my team is filled with chill dudes (or dudettes), I have no problem winning. The win/loss itself means little to me.
-
Some people have attributed my behavior to stupidity. I graduated from a top 14, private undergraduate and am currently attending an ivy for graduate school. I'm by no means a genius but I wouldn't necessarily label myself as stupid either. Although I will freely admit I'm an asshole for doing what I'm doing.
-
If I'm soft inting, I'm also doing stuff on the side (i.e. streaming Netflix or working on my paper).
-
My favorite part is when a flamer on my team threatens to throw the game if I or someone else on my team does not do "x".
With that out of the way, AMA~
