Queuing for ranked with 1000+ ping should be bannable or at least preventable

Just had a game where my urgot had over 1000 ping and disconnected numerous times. Naturally the darius got free kill after free kill. This is worse than afk or inting as it leads to a combination of both which leads to a guaranteed loss.

The servers should be able to test ping before queuing and if a player has unstable or just shit tier ping they should not be allowed to queue.

I used to get bad ping for a span of about 2 weeks. Our internet provider was changing stuff around the area so service was shoddy temporarily to set in the improvements.

However, I would start the game with normal ping, then 5 minutes into the game my ping would shoot up to 1200. Then it would stabilize and go back to normal for 5min. Then shoot up again. Then I would normally disconnect for 2 min, reconnect and my ping was fine. Then it shot up again to 1200 a few minutes later.

Although a ping checker would be nice, it's not always evident before the start of a game when someone will get a massive ping spike.

Yes, lets punish players for network issues outside of their control. Genius idea.

Well we are asking for a ping check in client for years but Riot just doesn't does it for whatever reason.

It's not someone's fault if they live in an area with horrible Internet

People with 1000+ ping should just get prison island treatment.

Given some of your responses to people... what you're saying is that the system should make a person wait 45 minutes while it runs a full game length continuous ping to a person's computer before allowing them to queue for ranked.

Because anything short of that is not going to really weed out much. And even if it DID that, there's still the chance they are stable for 45 minutes, then at minute 55 something happens.

Definitely not bannable. But maybe preventable isn't a bad idea. If you have really awful ping while trying to start a game, you should be automatically prevented from joining a game

Yep. Mandatory ping test against game server during lobby. Average above 250 or X% dropped packets and you get a forced dodge.

Why don't we take it a step further and make it a permanent ban if your internet cuts out during a game.

I'll see your high ping test, and raise you a hardware stress test. 9 people waiting 5 minutes for someone's flip phone to load a decade old game shouldn't happen. These people should be queued with other people playing on gaming toasters. Someone's ping could be a spiking abnormality, but a wooden piece of shit using 20 year old tech has no place in civilized society. Do I believe in segregation? Of course not. But do I believe that people trying to game on an Intel 4004 should be smashed into the bowels of hell? Abso-fucking-lutely
