I was recently premabanned despite not flaming, feeding, or trolling. I was wondering if could you take a look at my chat log and reverse this error riot?

Here is my chat log, we had a Kayn that was inting, feeding early game, not supporting bot which made them frustrated and flame and feed (blitz was 0 10 4 and mf was 3 and 7), then towards the end of the game he started flashing in front of us, going afk for several seconds, and me and the enemy team had a bit of back and forth like any game. This game lasted roughly 35 min and I only spoke out when he would do something absolutely crazy. At first I truly thought he didn't know how to play the game with his erratic and suspicious behaviour, only to realize late game he was trolling the entire time. I didn't say anything outrageous, no slurs, no excessive flaming or ruining my peers experience. Is this a false positive from my previous, worthy chat ban making me higher risk? Clearly a human couldn't make this mistake? No way I could've been permanently banned for this!

Hey,

I think you're misunderstanding how the "punishment volcano" works. You don't get worse punishments only by doing worse and worse things. You get moved to the next step because continuing to exhibit punishable behavior demonstrates an unwillingness to change, at least according to Riot's statistics.

Back in the day, Riot took a long look at how people react to punishments and warnings. What they found was that the first punishment was about 50% effective, regardless of what it was. Each subsequent punishment lost about 50% effectiveness (2nd = 25%, 3rd = 12%, and so on). Given that people were getting at least 6 punishments, it was clearly not working.

The 4-Step Volcano reflects this and is why we strongly caution people at the 14-day level to be extremely careful.

When you spend a game blaming and insulting your teammates and telling other players not to speak, you will get punished.

If you previously had a 14-day ban, that punishment could be a permanent one.

Don't feed trolls, jeez. You reward and encourage them by spending the entire game yelling at them and complaining about them.

Obviously this isn't an overwhelmingly toxic log, but it was 100% negative. You're talking trash to Kayn the entire game (doesn't matter if he deserved it or not), with a few breaks to yell at other players. If you recently had a 14-day ban, you are told after that ban that you're on your final warning. That's your cue to not act this way.

The game lasted around 35 min which means there were long periods where I would just foucs on myself, but whenever he inted or stole farm from my lane I brought it up to my teammates who also agreed. I can see your point and thank you for your response.

you don't get perma-banned off one game. You've obviously been toxic in the past and have been warned several times to fix your attitude, yet you still go around calling players "brainless" and such. So yes, you obviously can't learn from your previous bans and deserve the next level of punishment, even if it was a permaban

I actually disagree. When you are playing ranked, and an individual decides to intentionally feed, troll, and ruin the experience of everyone else in the game he should be the one reported. I truly was shocked by this individual and me and the enemy team Morgana (who initiated the smack tack by saying my champion and my play is dumb when I referred to the one shot their team did) went back and forth a bit which isn't overtly toxic just light bickering between opponents. I thank you for your response though!

I agree with you an extent. I absolutely despise Riot's "context doesn't matter" stance when it comes to interactions in the game. The issue is that that is their stance. To them it doesn't matter if you're calling out a troll or flaming an innocent player, the words you spoke are deemed to be toxic regardless of the context and therefor warrants a punishment.

That is why people don't like playing league due to the toxicity of players ruining it for everyone else. Especially when you are a b3-s4 player it's not fair we have to constantly deal with such bs.

Yes and I clearly wasn't overtly negative. I was stating fact. He was inting, he was being a troll, he acted eradically which made you question his mental fitness and understanding of the game until I realized he was intentionally trolling the entire game in ranked.

In any case, as mentioned multiple times in PB, probably in this thread and definitely in here, you're punished based on your actions.

Regardless of the circumstances, behaviors such as in-game taunting; harassment, offensive remarks, intentionally feeding, etc.

I've shown you examples of harassment in your own logs. You were punished for those.

Thank you for realizing I didn't deserve to be removed. I totally understand why someone who is 100% objective of the offenders own action would come to your conclusion. I agree, I was not being positive, I was being negative. However don't we have a right to say something even when it isn't good? When the situation is negative how does one simply ignore it when it's ranked and I care about my rank? I'm not going overboard here rather just pointing out to my teammates of what he was doing at the time in hopes they see and report. This whole experience makes someone lose interest because of people like that. I could have handled it differently but you know I could've gotten a lot worse. To your surprise I bit my lip on his actions tbh.

If you had a 14 day ban then you end up on probation. It doesn't matter how minor the behavior is, if it is found to be negative then it results in the next tier of punishment.

In this case you were repeatedly harassing a teammate for their behavior, subjecting your entire team - not just the Kayne - to your terrible attitude.

Look at it this way, if a teammate is trolling, they are doing it because they want to get under your skin and get a reaction out of you. If you respond then you're giving them what they want, and they will know that what they did worked so if they do it more they will get more responses. See how this works?

You're better off not reacting at all because a lot of the time if they realize nobody will react then they will give up. On top of that you can simply report them after the game knowing that Riot will deal with the shit-head for you. That way you don't subject the rest of your team to a bad time because of you venting in chat, and you also won't feed the troll.

It's a 100% negative log created shortly after a previous punishment put you explicitly on your last warning before a perma. Pretty straightforward stuff.

It was a long game and ranked. People shouldn't be toxic in game period. If I decide to call someone out for trolling I shouldn't be banned. I can see how without context it can me misconstrued as simply flaming but we as a team we're angry about this behaviour. Riot should focus more on those that ruin the expierience not people who react humanly. How am I suppose to react positively? It was a negative situation to begin with and is not fair I have to deal with such scum. I agree with the term don't feed the troll and will keep in mind league isn't fair and it's better to just mute.

In a perfect world it would be fine to call out a troll, but don't forget that defining somebody as a "troll" is often subjective.

I've personally never trolled, but I've been accused of it plenty of times. A bad or greedy engage looks like inting, a unique build looks like I'm trying to lose, I effectively split-push but my team engages and dies 4v5, I have all my abilities down and it looks like I'm letting my team die, etc.

I don't think it's reasonable for every instance of verbal harassment to be evaluated for whether it's "justified" based on the behavior of others. That's a great ideal to have for a real-world justice system, but in a video game it would require an unfathomable amount of man-hours to reach objective truth. Easier by far to simply make the individual responsible for their own conduct and leave it at that.

Yes because I should kill him with kindness. I'm not saying my comments weren't negative, but you fail to realize the situation being negative in general. This game sucks when you constantly have to deal with toxic braindead players all game and I'm not going to apologize for trolls by calling them out respectfully.

I have played this game since 2009. I, more than most, know how negative and frustrating this game can be. And nobody is asking you to apologize. You asked if you deserved it; the answer is an overwhelming "yes".

You had a worse KDA than Kayn so I dunno man. Also, you were playing Cassiopeia, if you didn't get first blood I'd be surprised as she has one of the strongest level 2's in the entire game. I feel like there was another instance of abuse before this one that you're not showing us. You were insisting that Kayn was trolling but yet, for a good 2 minutes, followed then by another instance of 3+ minutes you suddenly stopped gaining exp when everyone else carried on gaining. I'm going to assume you died and sat at base flaming. For 10 whole minutes you got 2 cs. Why? Even for someone of your rank that's awful. Before calling someone out for trolling please make sure you're not actually trolling yourself because the stats are on show for everyone to analyse.

Okay, firstly you are making an accusation that I left something out. I promise I did not and would not come here if I did. towards the end I kept trying to team fight with no avail, their jg really clamped down on me along with the fed trist which made it impossible to survive outside of the base. I did not go afk at no point in the game, I did not troll, 4 of us aside from kayn wanted to ff multiple times and he would be the only person saying no. My entire team agreed to report Kayn as a result and truthfully my first comment of "report kayn unskilled" was half joke because clearly there isn't a report for unskilled come on. I had a worse KDA because I tried to jg and gank other lanes (bot specifically without any gain) and fell far behind as mid and rammus roamed freely everywhere they went. Please don't accuse me of intentionally hiding info or intentionally throwing when the game was clearly far out of reach and my entire team knew it was a lost cause. What about dragons? Vision control? Rift herald? Ganks? Counter ganks? he neither did anything to help us and was detrimental to our success and we agreed.

Btw, if you saw my first blood you'd see it was Morg who I got it on. A sup mid lane so yea that wasn't suppose to happen before minions. Also when I said "that is dumb" I was referring to the one shot and Morgana replied "your champ or ur skill?" and that is when I replied with her being carried. I don't see how two opponents bickering back and forth like any game is a warrant for a ban sorry.

Well dude you were on high alert on their system and calling for someone to get reported is a reportable offence as it comes under bullying. No one's perfect, I recently got a 14 day ban on my clean record account for having one really bad match supporting the most toxic person I've come across (Who never got punished, slap in the face) where I just flipped out. I've not said anything remotely bad since. It's what you do after the punishment that counts and if you carry on being a negative influence you will end up being punished. I don't make the rules, I know they can be stupid, but that's how it works.

You should just mute the chat and drag it off screen and just don't say anything. If that doesn't stop you then just pop your enter key off of your keyboard so you can't open chat at all.

You did flame all game. You probably had prior punishments. I honestly see this single game as worthy of a chat restriction since I see no hate speech or threats. If you are further along in punishments, and you recently got off a 14-day ban, this ban was justified. Between Morgana and Kayn, you harassed them and acted like you were some kind of challenger god. People don't appreciate those kinds of players. If you are carrying them, why do you need to tell them they're noobs getting carried?

Also, you say Kayn was intentionally feeding but:

This entire chat excerpt shows that you thought Kayn was bad at the game, and was not intentionally feeding. You just convinced yourself that he was to justify your harassment.

He intentionally fed mid game after our entire team were harping on his play. Also that was early game when there was nothing happening. He didn't help at all when we all were repetitively being ganked. Sorry about the no poll accidentally submitted it without it. It was a negative situation I constantly deal with almost every game (i'm bronze 3-s4) and honestly i'm glad I can lvl my acc to 30 and stay out of elo hell. I have never seen so many toxic feeders, inters, trolls, in my life. You can't deny this is probably the worst aspect of being stuck in lower elos.

Let me tell you a story about how a little shit like me climbed out of bronze with my head trauma handicap. Ready? I took a break. League has a way of running together. Games back to back cause me to feel like I'm outside of myself, not focused, overly negative. I start thinking negatively, I miss skillshots, I blame people. I took a two week break to play fallout and when I got back I skyrocketed to silver. Now I'm stuck in silver because I have some other things to work on. :P

Hey that was really helpful. I felt like I was playing far too many games in a row where I had a toxic player for at least 7 straight ranked games (this isn't unheard of in bronze/silver 5). I know my skill level is far above what i'm playing but unfortunately it is a team game and 1 uber toxic player can single handedly ruin the experience for everyone. The other thing I'm working on to get to gold is specializing in a role and a champion. I used to play every champion because I was bored playing the same ones, to the point where I did decently enough, but not as well as my mains. With my two or three main champs I have a 70+ Win rate, and with Tryndamere, the only reason my win ratio isn't higher is because I only jungle with Tryndamere and people sometimes stop trying from champ select because they think trynd jungle is useless. The benefits of playing and owning every champion is that I know what every champ is capable of and how their kits work, even if I can't utilize them to the extent a better player can. So if I'm facing certain junglers I can take exhaust if I know they can burst me, I ward in spots where their jump or dash range allows, and I typically know who counterjungles, gank tendencies and sometimes I can even predict a gank and countergank, all with tryndamere. There's really a lot to the game that's so interesting to explore, each thing making you just a tad bit more aware. My solution to toxic teams is carrying so hard as tryndamere that my team rallies around me and stops bickering. Obviously I can't always carry. If you check my kda as trynd, it really sucks, which makes you wonder how my win rate is so high. I get dragons, split push, use my ult as a way to burn a lot of summs and ults before a teamfight where I have no tanks or we have a few carries. I am definitely not afraid to go in as trynd because even though I suck with assassins and have pretty bad processing speed I can use his ult to counter my own individual fears of going in. As an assassin I feel pressured to perform and always play too safely. As Tryndamere I can let that fear go and embrace the right click within me.

Hey what's up.

I read the early portion of the chat log. Unfortunately, the way you handled the situation got a player to report you while you were on high alert. Being on high alert and then getting a report is what triggers the band, not necessarily the contents of the game itself.

You will have to file a ticket with Riot support, explain your case, and they will decide if you deserve the ban or not.

Completely deserved. Moment you are toxic even once you violate bunch of things including even administrative and sometimes criminal laws. We would all be better if people like you would get perma instantly.
