I got chat restricted for asking the other team to report someone who used a racial slur

Title says it all. I asked the other team to report the adc for calling me a n-word, f-word and while he didn' get banned I got chat restricted. Also before you say "well you were probably toxic in your other games." That was the only match listed on the reform card. This infuriates me since it was a premade who harassed me all match, then lied at the end and asked the other team to report me. I don't play league to experience racism and homophobia.

Here's the reform card so you know I'm not just blatantly lying.

This deserves attention. You don't deserve a restriction for that. This is how retarded their current policies are, and exactly why people are pissed about them. You cannot even stand up for yourself or ask for moral support during a 20-50 minute game? Just sit there and take the verbal abuse? Bullshit.

Here's a tip for you next time : There is NO benefit whatsoever from having anyone ELSE report her. If you feel she deserves to be reported, you report her. The problem here is that the tribunal is a defense system which you use to protect the community from jerks, but you are using it like a sharp stick to poke people with.

Just report, that's all you need to do.

While asking for bans can backfire, you gloriously played yourself by saying what he said.

You have to understand that the system giving chat restrictions and minor bans is automated for the moment, and of course it will pick up the racial slurs and if whoever made that system is competentet, they also added its variations, and since yiou were fighting with someone, they most likely reported you, so the system chcked you and caught the words, so the warning came up.

Play it a bit smarter next time, or better yet, just mute and report them.

Have you checked the in client report card for more games? The email always only gives 1 chat log, but the client can give up to 3. You should also know that the logs they give you are just meant to be an example(s) of your behavior, not a comprehensive list of everything you have done. So just because this was the only log you received doesn't mean it was the only thing you did.

As other mentioned report lobbying is considered harassment. I have always interpreted that as a drop in the bucket rather than anything serious and this would be first otherwise, clean looking case I have seen punished for it. For future reference, there is no reason to ask anyone to report anyone. The system works off of reported games, not raw number of reports. So getting additional reports doesn't do anything.

Another possibility is the that the system picked up on you parroting the hate speech. This seems unlikely to be what happened to me since that would have escalated your punishment to a 14 day ban.

If there are no additional chat logs in the client reform card then I would submit a support ticket. Make sure to specifically mention the repeating hate speech thing.

Don't say "nr" or "ft" in chat for one

Two, soliciting for reports is against the rules because all chat becomes a "report report report report report" fest.

Odds are the system saw you said "report" and those two slurs.

I think it's because the community is filled with pansies that get their feelings hurt when asking for reports. League players the biggest babies I've come across. Best thing to do is simply not chat, that way they can't cry that saying "please don't chase the tank into the unwarded jg" hurts their feelings and ruins their fun.

Behavior enforcement in League is pretty much all done by numbers.

If you play with friends you'll receive less reports overall, and you're unlikely to get much punishment. If you solo queue you'll receive a hell of a lot more.

The actual threshold now for a report to be "valid" is so absurdly low it strongly discourages any sort of interaction with teammates at all.

As others have said you weren't really punished for asking for reports. It's the fact you felt the need to repeat what they said. If you needed to ask them (despite that you don't in fact need to) you could have just told the enemy team that they had used Racial slurs while in champ select. The way the system works for chat bans is that it looks for keyword. You used those same words hence why the system thinks you deserves to be punished! Just be thankful and use this as a lesson because I've seen people get permaban for less. That could have happen here because Riot does have a zero tolerance policy towards that since there is absolutely no reason to use it especially in chat!

Email Riot and see what they say, usually chat restrictions are based on more than one game though. The reform card shows you one of the chats that got you banned but when you log in you will see other chats as well.

You kinda recited what he said. Very lucky it wasn't a ban. Asking for reports is reportable, and not needed. You only need one report to get someone marked. On its own, you would be fine, but because you recited the words, you got punished. Very lucky, because those words usually bump you up to a ban on their own.

Penns5/4/2016, 9:16:28 PM1 votes

I wouldnt be surprised if you actually got banned because you used these words yourself while quoting her

Lol I hate when people ask for reports. Just report it yourself. If you plan on using the report system, you might wanna learn about the rules first. One of them is that asking for reports, is an offense.

scazzman5/5/2016, 12:08:31 AM1 votes

what probably got you punished. was the fact you repeated what they said. the ban bot cant understand context. so it would just think you're using the racial slur. i would email riot. they might actually remove this one. because even though you asked for reports. that wouldnt have been the trigger for the punishment

oden3215/5/2016, 1:37:36 AM1 votes

just a question, i dont see the f-word you mention, the only word i see is the n-word. on another note while i beileve you should not have repeated that a warning would have suficed much better then a 10 game chat restriction.

Aaking for reports is against the rules

Supreme Senpai695/7/2016, 12:41:44 PM1 votes

Well firstly asking people to report someone is a reportable offense. It's stupid, but it's a rule

KVbqbFsC8e5/10/2016, 2:19:44 AM1 votes

If it makes you feel any better, the man who set up the system that unfairly banned you for that is no longer with Riot.

Chibi Vydra5/11/2016, 9:42:28 AM1 votes

Bumped. Riot fix your reporting system. It's being abused and doesn't work.

COBRA C0MM4NDER5/11/2016, 1:45:42 PM1 votes

Calling for reports is not cool. that's why you got roasted by riot.

the smart move would have been to fill a support ticket AND a report of your own after the game.

your own aftergame report and the support ticket would have saved you from a chat restriction.

You had options to mute them, options to ignore their bs...but you didn't. (you could have just shut the client down entirely and left the game for a little bit to avoid letting the BS touch ya)

But you did not, and here you are.
