Can you get banned for running scripts for other games?
So I've been talking with riot support back and forth over the weekend to try and get an indefinite response on this, but every reply was basically: 'we can't reveal how our system works, ask on the boards and see if players or a rioter can comment'.
Keep in mind, I never used third party apps for league before, I'm playing on this acc rn so this isn't to appeal a ban or anything, but here's the story;
I play borderlands 2 and while playing, me and my friends run scripts on it. This is normal for BL2, infact the community runs custom patches all the time as a standard for playing just because there are some guns the community tries to make better, and a lot of the grinding the game makes you go through to build a character can be really time consuming without mods. Its really hard to get indepth on gun parts and all that but basically; modding to BL2 is what modding is to minecraft, its common, and gearbox is completely ok with it.
So harmless league unrelated stuff. Well after farming on BL2, me and my buddies decided to try and play some Team Fortress 2, and we couldn't start a game because VAC (steam's cheat detector system) was detecting something, even though it has absolutely no connection to TF2. We verified our files and restarted computers, and played some TF2 no problems!... but that is what scared me about League, does league randomly pick up on these scripts for BL2 and ban people? We also use cheat engine inorder to run these scripts on BL2 too, and I know even though Cheat engine isn't connected to the memory of a certain game, its still a red flag for some cheat detection systems if running.
I tried asking riot if this practice is ok and if their systems are detecting anything on my account at the moment (basically reported myself) and they won't tell me if its ok, if its bad, specifications to understand what exactly is good or bad by their defintion, and they won't look at my account and tell me if everything is clean or not (because VAC triggered with the scripts closed, so I want to be sure at no point have I had them running, or at least identify that they weren't picked up while running in the first place to know its safe for league.)
I tried to even just get a simple answer on 'if the system detect anything, but it has absolutely no affect or connection to the league client whatsoever, is it a bannable offense?' no comment but what we do know is the game will bug splat if any of your browser tabs had the string 'Cheat engine" in them, preventing you from starting a game despite league and chrome not being connected.
Anybody have experience with doing this?
